Dillinger

WebsiteSoundCloud | Twitter

H5C got their start making un-sanctioned video’s for big names like Frank Ocean, Odd Future and The Weeknd. Their signature dream-scape visuals used common elements like drugs, sex and violence in a way that made the most vile of acts seem a bit more classy. The directing collective quickly gained notoriety in the L.A. scene and have since moved on to making official videos for some of the most cutting edge artists in the game.

Enter Alexander Spit and Jay Uggh,  two very ill So Cal emcees who’s styles seem to draw from similar pools of influence. Each of these emcees bounce between a mid-west, rapid-fire delivery and the southern relaxed drawl that could have only originated from mixing copious amounts of lean, green and shrooms. The outcome is a sonic melting pot of trill vibes that will leave you wanting to hear more.  If your feeling this joint be sure to stream or support the Dillinger album.

Progressive House | Avicii – You Make Me (Throttle Remix)

Avicii - You Make Me (Throttle Remix)
The second single from Avicii’s genre-melding and record breaking album “True”, “You Make Me” gets a remix from Aussie producer, Throttle. Known for his novation launch pad videos, Throttle has also developed a unique skill as a producer that caught the ear of the Avicii camp and landed him a coveted spot as an official remixer for “You Make Me”. He adds his bright, cheery synths to the track, remaking the upbeat pop / dance / country cross-over into a nu-disco tinged dance track that is hard to dislike. Also included on Beatport is the extended version of the track for all of you DJs out there.

Chill, Dubstep | James Egbert – Exit Wounds (Murtagh Remix)

First off, I would just like to apologize for the scarcity of my posts. A few weeks ago I gained access to a Brazzers account and my life has been in shambles ever since. Not only that, but a few days ago I accidentally checked out the new guy at my work. He had long hair and was wearing a lululemon sweater so there was really nothing I could do there. It was crazy. Also, as if that wasn’t enough, my mom bought me candy cane scented hand soap but it doesn’t really smell like candy canes. It smells like how I imagine a candy cane would smell like after it had been sitting on the street for a few weeks and then thrown at my face by a smelly person.

In addition to wondering why Taylor Swift is always kissing a different guy in her music videos and how I wish I was one of them, there has been one other thing on my mind for the past few days and that has been this song. It is not often a song opens with 2 minutes of atmospheric piano and slowly building strings before switching gears entirely and becoming a chillstep track but that is what Murtagh did with his remix of James Egbert’s “Exit Wounds”. While I do think the intro could have used maybe an extra synth or two to liven it up a bit, it is still incredibly cinematic and well done. The uniqueness of it and the fact that it’s free makes this a track worth checking out.

Writing for FNT has its perks of hanging out with the dopest artists on the scene at the moment, and rolling with brothers Sketch and Tommy Shades, otherwise known as Bombs Away for a leg of their US tour was a true riot. You might not be entirely familiar with the duo other then the post FNT did a year back, but these guys are superstars in the land down under, have sold millions of records to date, are signed to Ministry Of Sound Australia, and love themselves some big booty bitches! After a 30 hour plane ride from Australia, straight to their performance at the Pool After Dark at Harrah’s Resort in Atlantic City, and a 2 hour drive to NYC, I had a chance to sit down with the guys, and ask them a few questions.

Check out their latest release “Assassinate,” an epic trap record, and like the boys on Facebook, follow them on Twitter, and read our exclusive interview after the jump!

Electronic | Iggy Azalea – Change Your Life (Maddslinky Remix)

Posted by on September 27, 2013

Aight y’all, I’m gonna come out and say I’ve been on a bit of a female empowerment kick lately (stay tuned, you’ll see) so I had to contribute a remix from one of the baddest bitches out in the game right now – that being, Iggy Azalea. Incase you’re not familiar with the Australian pop songstress, lemme inform you first and for most that, other than a wicked sense of style and ferocious stage presence, this girl has some serious curves, second perhaps only to the Bootylicious queen herself, Beyoncé of course. I tell you this because when you see Iggy in her music videos and on the cover of magazines, she looks like a *freaking* goddess. So all you prepubescent looking teenagers in your wife beaters can just move over because once Iggy gets in the spotlight there won’t be any room left for you.

Ehem. Anyways.

Here’s a remix from her second single of her album, The New Classic. After dropping a dope ass video, Iggy released a series of remixes of the track, so here’s my personal favorite: a very deep, head-bobbing rework from the man of many faces but who we’ll call Maddslinky // Zed Bias. Check it out, and the original video below as well.

Pop, Videos | Jon Bellion – The Making Of Ungrateful Eyes (Behind The Scenes)

Posted by on September 24, 2013

[do action=”youtube” videoid=”he_WQcIYM3M”/]

There aren’t many things on this earth that I enjoy as much as Jon Bellion’s music.  A loaded double bacon cheeseburger from Five Guys, a shampoo from the fine Asian woman at Supercuts, or my bar tab on some random dude’s card are a few exceptions.  In addition, a look behind the scenes into JB’s creative process often trumps the final musical product.  Why?  You can’t appreciate a sound like Jon’s without seeing the process from start to finish.  What goes on in Bellion’s head is a mystery; a ‘beautiful mind’ indeed.

Enjoy the above video of Jon producing his recent record, “Ungrateful Eyes” fro scratch in the studio.  While it seems I’m not the only one who enjoys these videos, Jon will be releasing these for each single leading up to the release of his highly anticipated fall album.

Electro-House | TheFatRat – Dancing Naked

Posted by on September 20, 2013

TheFatRat returns with a wild new single that blends funky disco and gritty electro into one seamless track. The video adds a very interesting element to the whole track, taking TheFatRat into various elements of pop culture from the “Levels” video, to “Thriller”, to Lion King, to Minecraft, Super Mario and many more. The video shows the talents of the German producer in not only music, but also in video production and editing. He has always been known for being original, and both the production and video reinforce that trend. We look forward to more TheFatRat produced videos in the future.
