Girl Fire | Galantis – Runaway (U & I)
Posted by BIGLIFE on October 1, 2014
With an “EDM” landscape full of similar sound acts, Galantis is a welcome breathe of fresh air. Despite their branded over-night success, they’re anything but, crafting hits well before “EDM” was a thing and you were still in high school dating cheerleaders. Last night, Galantis premiered their “Runaway (U & I) single on #BetaBPM (to much fanfare) set to release October 5th. The offering serves as the first single to their forthcoming album with no release date at the moment. Release date or not, Galantis is the next big thing in the electronic dance music space. Chill, Indie, Pop | Under Great Lights – This Must Be Love
Posted by admin on May 18, 2014
In a world bogged-down by overbearing production and manufactured radio hits, it seems as if I’m always gasping for a breathe of fresh air. Lucky for me, and for you, today my lungs (ears) were filled with the soundings of Nashville band, Under Great Lights.
The group has been recording music for several years, and have just recently decided to take to the masses with their playful, and upbeat sound. Featuring smooth male vocals and reggae-infused guitar riffs, the quotable and lighthearted lyrics are icing on the cake. Kick off your summer playlist the right way with “This Must Be Love”, and enjoy plenty more that is to come.

Listen, I’m no Family Guy groupie, nor have I ever heard of this dude Mikey Bolts until my buddy introduced him to me over the weekend, but he has some serious talent. If you breathe Oxygen, you should be able to recognize at least two of these voices. Do I think it’s kind of strange how his facial expressions look eerily like the cartoons themselves? Yes, without a doubt. Do I wish I could pull off those impersonations? Yes, without a doubt. Any way you cut it, this Bolts kid has skills. Check out his YouTube channel for more Family Guy covers.
Chill, Electronic | Låpsley – Pick Me Up (BA?EL Remix)
Posted by mimada on November 29, 2013
Love finding those tracks that absolutely take my breathe away just within the first few seconds of pressing play. This week that award goes to Belgium producer BA?EL and his remix of “Pick Me Up” by the 17-year-old Liverpool-based femme fatale who goes by the name of Låpsley. The original is sweet, subdued track, comparable to a lovechild of Alt-J and XXYYXX or something along those lines.
BA?EL’s remix, however, kicks up the sensual intensity of the original, creating a final product that’s sure to have set the mood (and then some) by the end of your first listen. Catch this free download and keep your eyes on both of these artists, I’ve got good feelings about them.

Bass, House | NVOY – Breathe feat. Jess Brinham
Posted by mimada on November 4, 2013
With the return of deep house music, sometimes we get carried away with the trend and forget what actually sounds good. Luckily the boys from the Oxford-based duo NVOY have us covered. Their style of “music for beautiful girls” can be attributed to house’s roots in the Detroit and Chicago, as well as UK garage. Each track is numbingly good, hitting that sweet spot like a piña colada on a summer’s day. For those of you that are nearing the end of your infatuation with Settle, look no further than NVOY. Check out their most recent releases below in addition to their available free downloads via Facebook.

This first track is their most recent and was featured on Skream & Benga’s BBC Radio 1 show. I lose it at the 2-minute mark.
This next track, “Is It Good,” is in fact, very good.
