December started out pretty dope. The new Stockholm-based one day festival, ”November Lights” on the 30th of November welcomed December with a pyrotechnical masterpiece – namely Tiesto’s 2.5 hour set. There were of course other DJs playing that night, but they faded away in the shadows of the highly financed, visually grand performance. I had troubles getting up from bed for a week after from my poor, sore body.; the indicator for a good rave and my bad physique.
As most people now tune in on the ready-made Christmas playlists, I can’t really face it yet. There are still a couple of days left until Christmas hits with maximal power, and I try to enjoy every moment left before it’s time to travel back home to my family and loop Michael Bublé’s velvet soft version of ”It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas”.
So, today I filled my ”Super Soft” playlist with a super soft package: the brand new EP release from Huxley. Inkwell is my favorite, and I match it with a cozy bed and fluffy duvet. Dive in below.

Bass, Chill, Electronic, Trap | Bedroom Bangers #2

If you’ve heard the original Bedroom Bangers you’re probably a diehard upallnighter with a desire for orgasmic, just body crunching bass. I wouldn’t go as far as to say these tracks are chill in the sense of ‘ambient’ but they do have an ethereal bounce to them. All of them are tight, I personally high five all these tracks, So there you have it, some beats and some gibberish. If you want to know anything more about an individual artist, travel through their soundcloud to the rest of their discography.

Tonight, Fresh New Tracks is providing you with something a little different than our usual musical offerings in an attempt to set your week off on the right foot. moodblanc is a Swedish, nu-disco duo with a sum-total of two songs in their SoundCloud catalog. Despite their non-expansive body of work, the two released songs are a treat for any pair of ears.
Be enchanted all the way to a terrace on the Hôtel de Paris, as “Vous” takes you on a continued journey through music…Each song that the group has released is a chapter in what appears to be a trilogy of work. “Vous” leaves the speaker/lover within the song in a vulnerable position, admitting that “it’s hard, impossible even, to be happy alone.”
Hopefully, the wait for Chapter Three won’t be too long, but in the meantime enjoy the soothing Daft-Punk-esk vocals and entrancing bassline.

Canadian house duo, Danzfolk are fresh faces to the scene, but they have the makeup to become the progressive stars from Canada. The duo just released a 4-track EP “The Other Side” for free that shows the wide range of styles they can put together in one body of work. The EP combines big progressive melodies, blaring horns, and even a funky, disco track “Bring It Back“, to finish out the EP on a nostalgic note.

SUBMiT & Pharoh, the two MC’s making up the free flowing hip hop trio, STNDRD. Both have impeccable flow and when they are in front of the camera, their body language only emphasizes the meaning of the lyrics. Combatting with that ping rap approach, the two shred the @OddCoupleBeats production, handing the mic back and forth, each delivering again and again a great verse. I’ve liked these guys (and girl) since I first heard them and each time they deliver new material, they continue to impress me. “We Want It All” is available for free on SUBMiT’s mixtape, Window Seat [Download Here]. Let’s just say, for instance, you are a 15 year old girl. Naturally, there will be a few things you enjoy very much: The Biebs, obviously, wearing leggings even though you clearly don’t yet have the body for it (soon though, soon), thinking you have a shot with older guys and asking them to drive you places and, most importantly, you are a fan of the long dismantled SHM (though you can’t name any of the individual members), Zedd (yet you suspiciously only know one song of his), and Avicii. Kian Sang, not a name a 15 year old girl would know but he was actually one of the official collaborators in Avicii’s masterpiece “X You”. His melody was chosen and can be seen at the 1:40 mark of the video. He has also remixed The Fray’s “How To Save A Life” magnificently. I was just 11 when the original came out and therefore only vaguely remember it. Though I feel as though if you do remember it, even if you didn’t enjoy it, that you will enjoy this version. This remix has made it into my ultra exclusive iTunes library so that should tell you how good this is.
