Hip-Hop | Childish Gambino – Telegraph Ave + Ta-Ku Remix

The buzz around Childish Gambino’s forthcoming album is definitely becoming more and more noticeable with each new release we are blessed with. This is the fourth release off the album and I think there is great improvement from Gambino as an artist from Camp to “Because of the Internet”. I’m going to hold off on any pre-album connotations until I hear the full album, but I would expect nothing less of great from Donald and his team. Also make sure to peep the Ta-Ku remix to his brand new song as well. Australian producers are finally getting a lot of press with Flume breaking into the scene with his epic “You & Me” remix. Happy Turkey day to all and a safe Black Friday as well.

Drum & Bass, Dubstep | Masq – Yoko

Masq - Yoko

Masq is back, hitting you straight in face with another epic Neuro blended original. His well organized production and progression of bass on “Yoko” should set the bar for many other aspiring producers. Masq may not be well known…yet, but his skills as an artist are undeniable. This track is not for the feint of heart.

Electronic | BreezyLoveJoy – P.Y.P. (Carmack Edit)

Mr. Carmack tracks truly speak for themselves.

However, the artist that this remix is derived from is definitely worth nothing. Breezy LoveJoy (also known as Anderson Paak) seems to be a very under the radar talent along the same funky feel as Carmack. You can catch Anderson Paak on the Wintervention Tour featuring Wax this December, and it seems they’ve got quite a few shows lined up so check here to see if there’s one in ya ‘hood.

DO SOMETHING

Hip-Hop, Rap | Isaiah Rashad – Ronnie Drake (ft. SZA) [Video]

Posted by on November 24, 2013

The TDE label mates, Isaiah Rashad and SZA teamed up a few weeks back to form the soft-spoken and tender “Ronnie Blake”. The power-duo has recently returned to the scene with their music video accompaniment. The video for “Ronnie Drake” is nothing incredibly detailed or cinematic, however, it does show a side that holds true to who Isaiah Rashad is as a person and as an artist.

I’ve had this record on repeat for days now, and I’m happy to be able to share it with you all. Enjoy this rare hip-hop flavoring on FNT and stay tuned for Rashad’s upcoming mixtape Cilivia.

Bass, Chill, Electronic, Trap | Bedroom Bangers #2

If you’ve heard the original Bedroom Bangers you’re probably a diehard upallnighter with a desire for orgasmic, just body crunching bass. I wouldn’t go as far as to say these tracks are chill in the sense of ‘ambient’ but they do have an ethereal bounce to them. All of them are tight, I personally high five all these tracks, So there you have it, some beats and some gibberish. If you want to know anything more about an individual artist, travel through their soundcloud to the rest of their discography.

Not yet a download on this Mura Masa gem but I am extraordinarily patient.

More after the jump, including a mix.

Progressive House | Strange Talk – Picking Up All The Pieces (Marcus Santoro Remix) + Djuro & Marcus Santoro – Heroes (Original Mix)

Everyone knows that the amount of plain black or white v-necks an artist owns is a direct correlation to their production prowess, which is why it makes perfect sense that Marcus Santoro practically lives in v-necks. He has somehow managed to hold himself back from taking pictures of his dog and laptop screen long enough to release a couple of tracks for free. The first one being his remix of Strange Talk’s “Picking Up All The Pieces” that he completed some time ago but because of complications with labels and, of course, Avicii, it is just now seeing the light of day as a free download. The second is a new original done in collaboration with fellow Australian producer Djuro.

It’s been almost two years since I first heard “Alan’s Right”, and was instantly made aware of the tremendous talent this man possesses. Sure, it’s extremely rare to find an artist (especially at his age) who has learned to expertly produce, mix, rap, sing, and write—but more so, it’s the fact that he has also managed to create a completely distinctive and unrepeatable sound. A sound that certainly was influenced by everything from indie singer-songwriters to underground hip-hop, yet it mimics nothing. With every new release I’m able to see the progress in his production, writing, and his ear—with each release more melodic, more honest, and deeper than the last. He’s been extremely hard at work this year creating what will be “The Revival” album, and today we receive the first release. It’s catchy, yet it resonates, and bares an amount of heart and maturity that we rarely see today. To classify him into any genre would be doing him a disservice, so just check out the song, and appreciate it for the engrossing music that it is.
