Hip-Hop, Videos | SUBMiT – Turbulence [Music Video]

Recently a one of our FNT faithful submitters dropped me a message on The Book telling me to check out a new artist he discovered, poised with heart, hunger, and potential.  At that time, I tuned into “Turbulence” on my 3.5″ iPhone screen with expectations of a mediocre video at best.  After one run through the video, I was sold.  The production was clean and well structured, the concept was on point, and the lyrical aspect of the song blew away my “mediocre” expectations.  Although “Turbulence” is only one chapter of SUBMiT’s most recent mixtape, Window Seat, it tells a lot about his desire to be the best. His flow on this track is impeccable and although I have not yet had a chance to listen to the remainder of Window Seat, I can imagine it’s consistent throughout.

While browsing SUBMiT’s website, I came across this quote he has posted and felt obliged to share,

“It’s one thing to be so dope that people try to be like you. It’s another thing to be so dope that people don’t even try; they just watch.”

I realize this is just the tip of the iceberg, but I see a lot of potential in this kid.  Let us know in the comments section, are you investing in futures on “SUBMiT?

Hip-Hop, Videos | Huey Mack – Dreams (Prod. Big Jerm) [Music Video]

Huey Mack sent over his latest music video release shot and edited by Ben Foley of Swaggernaut Productions. This song is a dedication to those that have been supporting Huey and helping him get to the point he’s at today. Produced by ID Lab’s Big Jerm, it samples “Dreams” by an Aussie group named Cadillac. I really dig the production on this one, very catchy. Be sure to check out Huey in a city near you with OCD: Moosh & Twist on their Up To No Good Tour!

Sometimes when Timeflies in front of your eyes, you need to stop, look around, and take it all in.  Surrealism.  With the lead single off their  100% original, One Night EP, Cal and Rez embrace the moment and ask for One Night.  With all things considered, is that really too much to ask for?

Alternative, Indie, Pop | Jon Bellion – LIFE [Music Video]

Since Visionary’s Jon Bellion released his first single, “Paper Plane“, a few weeks back, I’ve been trying to classify and compare his music.  A fluid blend of indie, pop, r&b, alternative, and pure innovation?  Death Cab for Cutie meets John Legend meets Kanye?  After pulling my thoughts in opposing directions I’ve come to the conclusion there is no classification and there is no comparison.  Jon Bellion is authentic, unique, sound, and extremely talented.  Captivating his audience with a distinguished voice, the kid also produces and composes he majority of his own music.

Bewildered by the simple things in LIFE, Bellion shares a story about a young man trying to figure out what he needs to progress and survive.  Although I was a bit skeptic when I didn’t see GRVTY behind the camera on this one, director Jeremy Peel proves his skill and delineates this song perfectly.  JB’s all original project, Translations Through Speakers will be dropping before years end.

Hip-hop’s “wild boy”, Machine Gun Kelly, just released the official video for “See My Tears” off his debut album Lace Up. The album debuted just a week ago and after listening to it this was a track that I thought really stood out. Now that I’ve seen the video it was just icing on the cake and you can’t not respect it. It shows just how big of an impact MGK’s music has on his fans and how much he cares about them in return. Check out the video for yourself and purchase the album below.

Dubstep | Dear Reader – Great White Bear (SizzleBird Remix)

Posted by on September 27, 2012

I have been following SizzleBird for sometime and time and time again I have posted some Drum & Bass of his, but today I bring you an incredibly emotional Melodic Dubstep remix. The original is a very deep acoustic track, depicting the story of a sad man who falls in love with a woman he wasn’t supposed to. Being familiar with the original and it’s music video, SizzleBird did an absolutely amazing job remixing this track. He kept a lot of samples from the original and created an amazingly smooth drop leaving the bass to only empower not overpower the vocals, as most producers seem to make the mistake of doing when creating a track like this.
