Alternative | RUBBER connect with NIC HANSON’ via “REASON THAT YOU CAME HERE”
Posted by VMan on June 3, 2021
Philadelphia’s Rubber have been causing quite the stir in the industry lately, and their latest offering ‘Reason
That You Came Here’ is a track that is too good to ignore. Taking a trip into psychedelica, the funky duo adopt warped synths and electro-pop rhythms that play as a sultry backdrop for the alluring narrative. Sewing sound samples into the lyricism, they use peppered percussion to build up to a killer chorus that is shimmering with gorgeous falsetto harmonies, with a charming attitude akin to that of Anderson.Paak. Complimenting each other in their varying musical tastes, singer Andrew Loper and multi-instrumentalist/producer John Della Franco have struck gold with the track, which features a groove-laden verse from fellow Philadelphian Nic Hanson . “Reason That You Came Here is all about confidence and not giving a flying fuck” Rubber explains,
“It’s about anticipating that feeling of being in a room and having all the eyes on you, being the center of attention, and owning it. Being cooped up this past year has been an intense and tiring experience. For us and many other artists, the return of shows has been the one light at the end of this tunnel that we are desperate to catch a glimpse of. We just booked our first hometown show for June 10th at Sunflower Philly so that light is well within reach now. This song is the perfect capstone to this era of our career, live music is popping up again after this long pandemic winter, andwe will once again be the reason that you came here, to the show, for a night of connective, energetic, eclectic music”.
Trap | RYDEN’s Sophmore Single “Ready” A Strong Follow Up To “Dear God”
Posted by VMan on November 7, 2016
RYDEN previously released her single “Dear God” a few weeks back, a single that had a deep message than most electronic music songs. This time she takes it a step further with ‘Ready”. A single completely created by her from start to finish. The actual sound of her voice is good in itself, making the lyrics easily insert itself into your brain. “Ready” is raw, gritty, tough, and gets more intense as the single progresses.
The orchestral aspects of the single are probably my favorite part, next to the drop, adding a nice little atmospheric that makes tune feel important.
RYDEN received a ton of support on his last single, “Ready” is set to go just as big if not bigger, stay tuned.
Events | Feed Me Brings The Teeth To Terminal 5
Posted by Middy on September 3, 2014
When you kick off a tour, you want to do it with a bang. Picking NYC for your city and Terminal 5 as your venue is a great way to kick things off not just me as a biased observer being from the area, but also with its size and impact on dance music. Terminal 5 has one of the best sound systems in the city and that was evident on this night. The low end was so strong during the show that the hairs on my body did not sit still for a second that he was playing. Not sure how the kids up front handled it (lots of drugs probably), but it was one of the most intense bass experiences I have felt, but with the clarity of Terminal 5’s speakers it was easy to take in.
Progressive House, Videos | Axwell & Ingrosso Tease New Music At Governor’s Ball
Posted by Middy on June 9, 2014
A set for the ages, Axwell & Ingrosso closed out Governor’s Ball last night opposite a much more mellow Vampire Weekend on the main stage. The duo were fully invested in their debut performance as Axwell ? Ingrosso, putting just about every other act to shame with their production, launching streamers, confetti, intense pyro and a full on fireworks display that lasted for a few minutes. They also played 6, yes 6 new tracks and two videos have surfaced on the web for you to get a taste of what is to come. Spoiler alert, I took them. Get a good listen now because these will be big, very big.

Bass, Electronic | Panic! at the Disco – This Is Gospel (Popeska Start Of Spring Remix)
Posted by BP on March 21, 2014
I had a bit of hard time categorizing this track because I think it could fall into a few genres. Let’s just call it “bass”. Popeska has been featured many times on FNT. The Atlanta producer is still killing it with this new remix of Panic! at the Disco’s song “This Is Gospel.” The lyrics used in this remix are emotional and meaningful. Paired with excellent production and buildups, this track is intense. Don’t just take my word for it. Give it a listen!

Dubstep | Savoy – I’m In Need (VIP)

A while back Savoy made a name for themselves with an epic laser show paired with their nasty bass infused track “I’m In Need”. Today they give away the VIP of that intense track, and this time it comes with it’s own lasers. This is the first track seen from Savoy’s upcoming album “Self Predator”, set to release January 14th.

Dubstep | Rollz – Burn Up feat. Katie’s Ambition (Dabin Remix)
Posted by BP on December 1, 2013
I always get excited about a new dubstep release! This melodic remix from Dabin of “Burn Up feat. Katie’s Ambition” by Rollz is a good addition to any dubstep collection. It’s got low rolling growls mixed with powerful female vocals. The piano and strings give it a cinematic and intense feel. It’s out on Itunes now and if Beatport is more your style it’ll be there on December 9th. Check it out!
