Electronic | KIIRA “After Hours” Strikes Unique Balance Between Modern Genres
Posted by VMan on May 30, 2020
With a growing selection of music continuing to mount under the solo singer as the years pass, “After Hours” strikes a fascinating balance of making an all-her-own sound shine while incorporating production elements from many modern popular genres, including dance, pop, and indie.
Interconnecting these elements in way that fits her, KIIRA continues to make her mark, more recently with “After Hours” taking the focus of the now.
With an overall growing alias and hundreds of thousands of plays to her name, KIIRA is becoming a clear ‘not to miss’ artist in 2020.
Electro, Jersey Club | VenessaMichaels Brings Together Manga & EDM With New Song
Posted by VMan on July 12, 2017
A ton of producers and industry 20-somethings are major fans of anime and manga. One producer who falls in the manga fan category is VenessaMichaels who had the privilege of partnering up with Viz Media on the creation of her new original. “After Hours” was inspired by the manga series of the same name. Venessa brings her usual jersey club flare to the mix, but I can’t help but to feel that this track is a bit different from her usual works. Despite that feeling, the track is just as dope as you’d expect. Check it out today and make sure to grab a copy off iTunes.
Cover, Videos | Timeflies Tuesday – Burnin’ It Down
Posted by Grubeats on November 12, 2014
Imagine Jason Aldean had the ability to insert a Sean Kingston hook and then drop a verse mid song – essentially, that’s what Cal and Rez just did with his latest hit, “Burnin’ It Down”. For those of you still resistant to country music, ride this segway and give it a shot.
Holy shit, I can’t believe I just endorsed country music. Past Grubeats would kick me ass right now.
Tickets are still available for Timeflies second show in Boston next week on Thursday, 11/18: GRAB TIX HERE
Freestyle, Pop, Videos | Timeflies Tuesday – Party In The U.S.A.
Posted by Grubeats on July 2, 2014
When it comes to being American, Cal and Rez are always proudly sporting the red, white, & blue. With their recent album After Hours marinating on the charts, Timeflies haven’t been releasing weekly TFT’s as I’m sure you have hoped. Remixing Miley is more or less a staple of their game at this point, so what would be more American than flipping “Party In The U.S.A.” for their first freestyle in the past few weeks? Well, I can think of a few others, but this one definitely hits the nail on the head as we head into Independence weekend. So with that, kick back or turn up, but whatever you do, toast to the greatest country in the world.

After months of teasers, singles, videos, sold out shows, & of course Timeflies Tuesday’s, Cal and Rez come together to deliver their latest full-length LP, After Hours. With an independent spirit still instilled in their minds, the Tufts born duo kept the majority of the project organic, leaving the vocals up to Cal and the production on Rez’s plate. Having said that, Cal did lend the mic to hip-hop’s honorary MC, Fabolous, for a verse on “Fall” as well as the king of auto tune, T-Pain, on “Somebody Gon Get It”. Private university kids putting out big time records!
Music game Jelly Belly’s – the album contains flavors from a variety of genres. Pop, hip-hop, electro, country, folk, and just about anything else you can think of. Their sound is unique, smooth, and on pace with any other mainstream artist/group in the game. In the scope of life, time certainly does fly, but when you’re waiting on an album like this, it almost feels like the clock is stopped. Wait no more and grab the iTunes download with enough time to turn up before Timeflies hits your city on their After Hours tour.
