Ah, beautiful girls and beautiful music, can it get any better? I’m sure most of you are shaking your heads while you read this so I’ll just pretend I can see you and get on with my post. Even though this video/track is about a month old, it was scarcely seen on the blogosphere due to unknown reasons, so let FNT be the ones to introduce you to singer/songwriter Connor Zwetsch. Connor hails from my hometown, Tampa, and has recently moved out to LA to pursue her singing endeavors. Admittedly, the video quality here isn’t what we’re used to seeing, but the music makes up for it. Connor’s gorgeous voice and enchanting looks have captivated me, and I hope she captivates you too. Did the Bieber do it again or did the Beiber do it again? Just sleeping with Michael Madson’s daughter while he’s in the house like it’s no big deal. Sure, he gets beat up by a career criminal slash gaudy gold jewelry wearing bad guy. The balls on this kid though. And the dance moves. Oh, the dance moves. The swaggie is literally dripping off his $900 Lanvin sneakers. Vintage Biebs. I wonder how Selena feels though. She has to watch this and cringe. She’s like 18, right? It’s common knowledge 18 year old girls can’t be in a relationship without an unhealthy amount of jealousy. I can imagine he’s going to be in the dog house for months. Doesn’t matter though. It’s Bieber’s world and we’re just living in it.

From his partnership with Sendspace, to his “My Awesome Mixtape 3” being featured on Hulkshare, Clinton Sparks has been lighting the internet on fire as of late. Clinton continues his domination by releasing a video for “Let’s Drive,” a bootleg of Poter Robinson’s hit record “Language,” which tells the story of two young teens expecting a child in the coming months. Despite the social stigma and lack of support from their parents, they stick together, running of into a sunset filled with awesome. Just under a year ago, I received a submission as I always receive submissions, through a mutual friend. That mutual friend told me, “Listen A, I’ve got this friend that’s extremely talented. You’ve got to listen to him.” Although I’ve heard that story many times before, I begrudgingly gave him my e-mail address and told him to have his friend send it over when he had a chance.
When I received the submission, I wasn’t all that impressed. I replied back, thanked him for taking the time to personally e-mail it me, and told him to keep up the good work. Three months go by, and a certain “Drake Medley” is going viral across the interwebs by a local Dallas artist. His name was Joseph Somo, the same artist I previously turned down just months before, had become a certified viral sensation.
SoMO has come a long ways from recording covers in his bedroom, taking it to a new level with his Jeremy Brookover directed video for “Throw It Up,” an infectious Friday night anthem for those looking to cut loose and throw caution to the wind. Even Mannie Fresh couldn’t help himself, joining SoMo in the video as they fist pump into the wee-hours of the morning.
If SoMo’s music can make the most cynical of bloggers (I’d be lucky if he even responded to my e-mails now) turn full fledged fan, I know SoMo can make a believer out of you as well. While we’re all still recovering from last weeks #UnderTheInfluence hangover, Timeflies refuses to give us a break, delivering us the full video which they teased us with last week. Sampling Portugal. The Man’s indie rock track, “Sleep Forever”, this one will help soothe the bass poisoning we were succumbed to while listening to 4 of the other 5 tracks off the mixtape. Once again a great visual work put together by the entire Timeflies team, this time reflecting work of director Dan Gotti, who certainly wasn’t opposed to filling his screen with a cast of young dimes.

I’ll be honest and admit I’ve never really bought into Cris Cabs music. Despite all the buzz he triggered when he dropped “Rihanna’s Gun” and later his “Echo Boom” mixtape, I never really understood the appeal. While I was scrolling through Twitter just now, I saw this new track he just dropped ‘to hold us over until his next project’. I gave it a listen thinking “What do I have to lose?”. I don’t know if it’s the warm weather and sunshine that’s opened my ears, but this is beautiful music. I’ve also added in Cris’ previous single off his next project featuring G.O.O.D. Music’s Big Sean boiii. So to you Cris Cab, I’m sold. Deliver me some more new tunes before late September rolls through.
