Bass, Chill | “Closer” by Juuku Arrives With Stunning Visual

Posted by on September 15, 2020

Buzz surrounding the anonymous producer, juuku, has been growing constantly. Following his latest release “Euphoria” on RL Grime’s Sable Valley Summer Vol. 1, juuku is back with yet another hypnotic and energetic single titled “closer” that continues to build upon the hype surrounding the mysterious artist. Juuku not only can lay down the angelic topline and production but along with each song he includes a special visual representation that tells his story and gives fans a full audio and visual experience unlike anything seen before. The young juuku is crafting his own space in the electronic music scene by smoothly blending Chill Electronic sounds to create a unique and ethereal sound. “Closer” tells a story about overcoming the feeling of defeat and rejection. Juuku realized that he had to start holding his passions and dreams closer to himself and not in the hands of others in order to stay true to himself and find a way to keep pushing on. Gaining recognition by veterans such as RL Grime, this is only the beginning for juuku and we can’t wait to see what the emerging artist has in store in the future. Here’s what he has to say about “closer”: “? ????? ???? ?????? ? ???? ????? ? ???? ????????? ?????????? ??? ?? ???? ?? ?????? ?? ????? ?????? ?? ?? ??????. ?? ?? ???? ?????? ????, ??? ???? ? ???????? ? ??? ???? ????? ??????? ?? ???????? ??? ???????? ?????? ?? ?????? ??? ??? ???? ??? ????? ?? ?????’?” – Juuku

Chill | “Down” by Mokita is a Shape-shifting Original Single

Posted by on September 5, 2020

Raised in a small town in Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley, and, later, western North Carolina, Mokita — born John-Luke Carter — took to music at a young age, beginning 13 years of classical piano lessons at age six, before picking up the guitar and trying his hand at songwriting as a teen. Relocating to Nashville after college, John-Luke took on the Mokita moniker, a name adopted from Kivila, a language native to Papua New Guinea. The word Mokita roughly translates to “the truth we all know but don’t talk about,” and it’s that sentiment that has always informed Carter’s approach to songwriting, exploring themes like depression, anxiety, the joy and stress and uncertainty of budding and fading relationships, and other personal themes, all in ways we all too often feel but rarely so truthfully articulate. His latest offering is “Down”, a slow-burning sadly yet eventually upbeat single that will have you clicking play a few times back to back. I’m really ready for a full blown album via Mokita, every single I’ve heard has been great and had some real replay value. Check it out above now!

Alternative, Chill | Chaz Cardigan Gets Honest on “Middle of the Ground”

Posted by on August 22, 2020

“‘Middle of the Road’ came from ruminating on what my life would’ve been like if I’d stayed in my hometown, I realized I would’ve been miserable, stuck in a cycle of debt and probably addicted to something, pretending to be someone I’m not for the rest of my life.” said Chaz Cardigan on his dark new single “Middle of the Road”, the indie alternative track. I’ve re-listened to this one a handful of times and don’t plan on stopping anytime soon. The Nashville singer/songwriter keeps stepping it up and doesn’t look like he’ll be stopping anytime soon. Billboard has named Chaz as one of the main LGBTQ Artists to watch In 2020, so if this article doesn’t make you pay attention, their word should!

The dark pop gem is a catchy, ironic, simple yet rather cut-deep track that eludes prowess and sincerity throughout. WEIRDO explains and defines his past experiences lyrically and sonically. Driving drums and dirty synths push forward the lo-fi vocals which hail both sarcasm and true meaning. Check out the new video above now and keep WEIRDO on your radar.
