Sandro Silva

Dutch phenom Sandro Silva has been on the scene since he was 15, soon breaking through with his release “Prom Night”. The mastermind behind the game-changing single “Epic” (he sheds light on it during the interview), Sandro Silva has proven he is not a one hit wonder, garnering a countless number of other well-received singles & remixes on labels like Mixmash, Spinnin’, and most recently, Revealed Recordings.

His most recent single, “Payback” hit the top ten of the Beatport main charts and has been a favorite of artists like Hardwell, Benny Benassi, Deniz Koyu and plenty more. We had the chance to chat with him about his most recent single to see what makes it different from other festival-styled tracks, ghost production, an accusation incorrectly thrown at him, and more. Read on for the interview and grab “Payback” here.

Exclusive, Featured, Interviews | Showtek Talk The “Art” Of DJing, Terrible Shows, Basketball And More [FNT Exclusive]

Posted by on November 26, 2013

showtek

In conjunction with our presenting their Showtek Essentials a few weeks back, we have an interview with Dutch masters, Sjoerd and Wouter Janssen, known to you as Showtek. Their move from Hardstyle to Showtek-styled electro house in the past few has been well chronicled, starting with productions alongside Tiësto and Marcel Woods, like “Maximal Crazy” and then really breaking out with their own collabs and originals like “Hell Yeah”, “How We Do”, “Cannonball” and most recently “Booyah“. I would argue that besides W&W, only Maarten Vorwerk (unwittingly, the most famous ghost producer out there) has helped sculpt the festival-oriented dance music landscape as much as Showtek. They do not waste a single production, and live bring that energy to you every night.

During our interview we cover everything DJing, which they say “Their mum could do it”, their productions, past and future, bad shows, their love for basketball and much more. Head past the break to get to know the Janssen brothers a little better and stream the remixes for “Booyah” while you read.

19 year old producer Sebastian Carter released his official chill-trap remix of Australian vocalist Nicole Millar’s record “Fall” and it’s a stand out record with stellar vocals, and a fluid production that’s bound to get you through this pointless Monday on the 3 day week before Thanksgiving break. You might catch yourself day-dreaming or thinking about your lover with this one, it has a hint of sex and passion, but who’s not down for that? This remix will be available for purchase shortly, but in the mean time like Sebastian on Facebook, and check out some more of his work, he’s one to keep an eye on! This is a must listen!

Progressive House | Jeremy Olander & Fehrplay – Balboa

Jeremy Olander & Fehrplay - Balboa

Surprisngly enough, these two have never done a collabo together with all the work they have both released on Pryda Friends over the past two years. However, with all the time they have spent together touring across the US over the past 3-4 months, both with Prydz and on their own, a track was spawned from two innovative minds. It has the vintage progressive grooves you expect from these two and best of yet, the track is free, so hit download now.

Electronic | Phazz – You

Posted by on November 20, 2013

Today I’ve got a new track for you from French artist, Phazz, out on the Cream Collective. This track is incredibly mellow, but not in the typical sense of the word mellow, with very prominent drum work. The strings and piano make it soft and haunting. Overall, it’s a very unique and chill track, and it’s free!

Here at FreshNewTracks, we love chasing down a good story. Red Vision Records in El Paso, Texas is one of the stories you can’t help but share. Earlier today, I was cruising the interwebs and I came across a story from our friends at Your EDM. The title of the sort was “Serial Song Thief ‘Havirest’ Angers KOAN sound, Asa, SKisM, and EDM Community” The article was fascinating, so I decided to do a little digging. Well, a lot of digging. This is where it gets fun.

In addition to ASA, Koan Sound, and SKisM, our friend Collin McLoughlin was targeted too. Particularly, his “Chasing Ghosts” single from his extremely popular “Tears Of Tempo” EP. Collin tweeted about the trickery moments ago. I say he should be flattered, but it’s pretty shitty behavior to say the least. I decided to track down these ole’ chaps at Red Vision Records in El Paso, Texas. Here’s what I found…
