Events, Featured, Review | THROWBACK THURSDAY: How Our Lives Have Changed Since Amsterdam Dance Event
Posted by mimada on November 14, 2013
Just one short month after attending the Amsterdam Dance Event in the Netherlands, VMan and I bring you nothing but the best coverage of the event, including a first hand understanding of how the Dutch produce such great DJs and the aftermath of how our lives have changed since the festival. Expect to be ready to purchase a plane ticket to next year’s ADE upon completion.
Annnnnd go!
Chill | FÜCHSE – Sacellum
Posted by VMan on November 8, 2013
Here’s another record that’ll have you feeling some kind of way and deserves your attention, “Sacellum” by British producer Fusche. The laid back electric guitar that kicks in around 1:29 might be what sells me on this record, kind of reminds me of a guitar line off of an old Michael Jackson tune. If you’re looking for ambient music to get you to the weekend, while you’re struggling with your hangover this one’s for you! This is a must listen and support by copping this record!

Dubstep | Lorde – Royals (Dotcom Remix)
Posted by Juicebox on November 7, 2013
OH LORDE! If you listen to the radio, chances are you hate the original version of this song by now. If you’re one of the smart ones who uses Spotify or Pandora, you might just still enjoy this one. Either way, Dotcom is here to make your countdown to the weekend fly by just a bit quicker with this heavy hitting remix of Lordes “Royals.” Dotcom has burst onto the dubstep scene with his melodic remixes and weekly releases known as “Dotcom Dubdays.” The kid is a future star, so don’t sleep on this one.
Chill | Noah – It Breaks Your Heart (Marv Remix)
Posted by VMan on November 3, 2013
This remix by German producer Marv, of a cover done by Noah for the Eli Young Band’s record “It Breaks Your Heart” is the track of the weekend. I’ve been listening to it on repeat ever since I heard it on DJ AA’s latest mix he did at a private event on-board a yacht during the Abu Dhabi Formula 1 weekend, and yes the music sounds just as cool as the party itself. If you like folk music with a dance feel, and soulful vocals then consider yourself served! This is a must listen and must download!

Hip-Hop, Trap | Stwo – Syrup
Posted by Mach on November 1, 2013
HW&W Recordings just released an interview they did with Stwo along with this ever sweet original, “Syrup”. Now I won’t condone sippin’ some sizzurp, but Stwo delivers yet again with a must have track. The interview itself is actually an enjoyable read and an interesting insight into the mind of the up and coming Hip-Hop/R&B/Trap producer. Just got off work? Hit play on this and drift into that weekend state of mind.

This record “Waitin On Me” is something different, a soulful beat by Renz, a 21 year old producer from Brisbane Australia who just released his EP #RENZLYF , which I advise you all to check out. It’s been a lively weekend and these are the records to keep you comfortable on this Fall Sunday. Let this one build, guaranteed once it all comes together you’ll be feeling good! These are must download and must listen!

Another stand out track on the project in my opinion is “Chunk!”

Electronic | Oliver – Mechanical Remixes
Posted by mimada on October 24, 2013
Okay so I’ve been a bit all over the place the past week so this post may be a tad over due but bear with me – it’s incredibly vital to your well being and the entirety of your weekend. The charismatic DJ duo Oliver released their Mechanical EP through Fool’s Gold earlier this year and were showered in success. Like, if you didn’t hear “MYB” at a music festival at least 5 times this summer then you son were at all the wrong music festivals. Anyways, last week they debuted their Mechanical remixes and literally each track is a hands-down 10. The first remix is brought to us by the one and only Dillon Francis who shot “Night Is On My Mind” with a full injection of bonafied Dillon, with that one and only moombatastic, speaker-shattering sound you can trust. The second remix from Nom De Strip was an unexpected favorite, a big room rework of “Control” that is undoubtedly, well, out of control. Next up, a freaky deep remix of “MYB” from FNT favorite Tchami, which adds a nice new perspective to the original. The EP finishes off strong courtesy of upcoming producer Values, who takes us on a heavenly, melodic journey throughout the remix of title-track “Mechanical.” If Values wasn’t on your radar before, I think this track will guarantee he ends up dead center in the near future. And you know, I want to say the last one will end being the one you play on repeat, but the truth is the whole compilation works so well together you probably won’t be able to settle on just one track. Unfortunately it’s not available for free download but grow a pair a drop the few bucks necessary so these DJs can bring home the bacon at the end of the day. Plus then you can have these remixes readily available because you never know when you might need them this weekend… OoOoOoOoOh!
