DJ-Set, Exclusive, Featured, Interviews | FNT presents #SomethingBIG #023 – Stafford Brothers & Moguai + Exclusive Interview
Posted by Middy on June 14, 2013
We have had them on before, LA based duo, by ways of Australia, The Stafford Duo are back with another episode of their radio show, Something Big. We have partnered with the entrepreneurial duo to present Michael Jordan’s episode of their show with German vet, Moguai on the guest mix. During his guest mix Moguai unveils the curtains on the process behind some of his most prized recent tracks, including possibly the biggest track of the year thus far “Mammoth”, his own single on Size Records “Champs”, and more. He also reveals info on collabs with Tiesto, Moby and a big pop singer in Germany that he says is one of favorites to date.
The Stafford Brothers are more than DJs / producers. They own several nightclubs back home in Australia, they have their own reality TV show, which is licensed in Australia, South America, Canada and Europe. They are the first dance music acts to be signed to Cash Money Records and their first single “Hello” has gone double platinum in Australia. We had the chance to ask ask them a few questions about their busy lives, Cash Money Records, the future and more. Interview and tracklist after the jump.
Progressive House | Vicetone vs Nico Vega – Beast
Posted by Middy on April 29, 2013
I had no idea who Nico Vega was before this track, possibly my own ignorance, but after hearing the preview of this a few days ago, I sat there watching TV and the commercial for Bioshock 3 came on, and I was struck with the familiar raw female voice of Nico Vega bursting through the TV screen as the dude sweeps in to save the lady about to be hung. Vicetone took that track and made a monster of their own, with their notably crisp mix downs, powerful riffs and punchy bass, all while flawlessly incorporating the rock elements of the original. Coming up for Ruben & Victor, look for their second remix of the Nervo twins to be released pretty soon, this time for Nervo’s recent single “Hold On“, as well as the follow up to “Heartbeat” with Collin Mcloughlin and a worldwide tour schedule.

Videos | Drake – Girls Love Beyonce (Rendition) by SoMo

It just to happens that everytime I hear a new SoMo Sunday, I am also watching NBC’s The Voice. Joseph SoMo is better than every person I’ve seen on NBC’s primetime singing competition. But I’m going to give credit where credit is due and let you all know that Joseph SoMo is one of the best singers in this country. He can go toe to toe with the best of them, and I’m sure he would have all 4 coaches at his beck and call if he were to go Collin McLoughlin and make the transition from the blog game to the TV game. But we hope he doesn’t because that could interfere with our SoMo Sundays. So stay where you belong Mr. SoMo, we love you.
Dubstep, Trap | Krewella – Come and Get It (Remixes)
Posted by Middy on April 14, 2013
While the world is getting progressively wetter for Krewella as “Alive” takes over the airwaves and TV, they have not forgotten about the fans and have released the remix package for their single “Come and Get It” for free. The remix package brings in established names like Savoy, while taking contributions from newcomers like German producer Kairo Kingdom to showcase talent from all across the spectrum, much like the “Play Harder” remix EP. Moving accross a wide variety of styles and sounds, each of the remixes make sure to let the vocals from Krewella shine and then add their own flavor to it. Whether it is the trapped out DMNDZ and Savoy remixes, an interesting and successful direction to see them go, or the heavier Kairo Kingdom or Razihel remixes, this remix package has something for everyone.

Hip-Hop, Pop | Jared Evan – Are We Almost There Yet? (Prod. by Statik Selektah)
Posted by Grubeats on February 22, 2013
One of my favorite up and coming hybrid artists, Jared Evan, shares the first cut off his collaborated project with producer Statik Selektah. At only 23, the NY native has had an adventurous career, initially signing with Interscope, having his music featured in TV spots, to releasing several solo projects and now working on a collaborative effort with one of the game’s most respected producers. With the title of the upcoming project, Boom Bap & Blues, Statik cooks up a beat driven by a heavy bass line, snare kicks and smooth keys as Jared soulfully sings his first verse before bursting into a secondary rap verse. Asking the seamlessly daunting question, “Are we almost there yet?”
“Statik play the record so they hear what I say, I’m from New York but I’m headed west no Kanye,
With a back pack if my fans talk then I chat back and I bogart like the rat pack”
Hip-Hop, Videos | Riff Raff- Time (Video)

“My days are slow and my nights are cold. To go to sleep, I keep my TV on.“
Sampling the Plain White T’s smash hit, “Hey There Delilah” Riff Raff grants custody of an introspective Johnny Cash esque swag that warns of the trappings of fast money, fame, and fake friends. He laments, “No one to come home to. No one to cook for me. When I’m sick, it’s a catastrophe” as he lays on the floor with a solitary female hand rubbing his chin-strap beard. Whether or not you find the freestyle scientist’s video disturbing is irrelevant, as the different hair styles easily make up for the weirdness. Get used to Jody Highroller, he’s single handedly taking over the rap game. RAP GAME CHUTES AND LADDERS. RAP GAME HERMAN CAIN. RAP GAME MACAULAY CULKIN.
