With it only being a week before the final festival marking Summer’s last stand, North Coast is going to be bringing down the house with their fantastic lineup and vibes this year. Releasing the schedule earlier which features Widespread Panic, Wale, RAC, local rap group Leather Courduroys, and Knife party on Friday. Saturday has the likes of Wave Racer, Steve Aoki, D’Angelo, Chromeo, and Porter Robinson. And finally, Sunday with Atmosphere, Disco Biscuits, Trippy Turtle, and Tycho. Being in a more intimate and closed environment, Union Park is one of the unsung heroes of the whole operation that is North Coast. If you’re new to the whole Jersey club scene and are curious about why Nurse Joy and Officer Jenny, as well as confused as to what the phrase “Turtle on that booty” means, have no fear, it’s just who Trippy Turtle is. Voyaging away from the usual R&B remix, Trippy decides to give us his theme song, which is produced so cleanly and smooth. Along side the Pokemon characters, we see cameos made by Cashmere Cat, RiFF RAFF, Pink Panther, Booty Beaver, Drippy Dolphin, and more. A lot of weirdness in the video, but it works. In order to get the most out of your Trippy Turtle experience, make sure to watch the video. Electronic | Disclosure – Latch (Lido Remix)

Less than a week ago I posted a Disclosure remix by up and comer cln. and in doing so, highlighted the importance of originality in these ubiquitous Disclosure remixes in order for them to break the surface, hit the big time, soar to the top of the Hype Machine charts, whatever. After hearing just a mere preview of Lido’s remix, it all became clear to me why this was one of the most anticipated Disclosure remixes in a minute. The Norwegian producer (not pointing any fingers this time) has made a name for himself after planting a seed in the scene long ago with his Cashmere Cat, “Kiss Kiss” remix (for you OG fans out there) and most recently, his rework of Yung Lean’s “Gatorade.” This “Latch” remix is one of the more light-hearted, warm and fuzzy ones out there, perfect for any setting or time of day. Because, you know, for a second there I almost thought I never wanted to hear “Latch” again for the rest of the forseeable future but Lido really brought back the magic from the first time I heard this track back to life. Keep your eyes peeled for Lido’s EP release via Pelican Fly and your fingers crossed for it to be sooner rather than later.

Man, I need an ass bouncing on me for this one, cause right now it doesn’t feel real! Jersey producers Dj Sliink, Dj Hoodboi, & Trippy Turtle just dropped their remix of August Alsina’ “Sucka” which they produced at Mad Decent studio and it’s tough! Ladies get to twerking, cause I don’t know how you can not move to this tune. The bounce brought by all three producers from that Jersey Club sound, complimented by Alsina’s R&B vocals makes for hardcore grinding, and mad sex appeal. Don’t sleep on this one! This is a must listen and a must download!

YOU ALREADY KNOW WHAT IT IS.
All the music that I listened to throughout the last 12 months enough to make me sick but somehow didn’t. The fields of music brought a bountiful yield in 2013 which allowed listeners like me to tune into more genres and artists than I could ever imagine. In order to cover all my necessary bases, I’ve drafted quite a comprehensive list (or two) missing prety much only anything Jennifer Lawrence related although if all the things she said this year were songs then they would 100% have made it on my list as well.
