Mix | TomorrowWorld Tabs Benny Benassi For Second Exclusive Guest Mix
Posted by Juicebox on July 21, 2015
Last year, TomorrowWorld drummed up anticipation for the festival by releasing a stellar guest mix each week as a part of their “Artists of Tomorrow” mix series. Emerging artists at the time like Oliver Heldens, Milo & Otis, Lane 8, and others all used their mixes as opportunities to showcase their varied styles, and the “Artists of Tomorrow” series was one of the best things to come out of the festival last year. This year, TomorrowWorld tabbed Shaq AKA DJ Diesel for the first mix of the year, and now, Benny Benassi has taken the decks to deliver an hour-long history lesson on house music. On his mix, the international tastemaker has selected a diverse assortment house cuts ranging from deep, to tech, to electro, and anything in between. You can stream the mix above, and if you don’t have tickets to TomorrowWorld yet, you can get them here.
Events, Exclusive | Countdown to ADE Spotlight: Rustie
Posted by mimada on October 16, 2013
Tomorrow, Fresh New Tracks will be jetting off to the Netherlands for ADE: Amsterdam Dance Event, a five-day electronic music festival, conference, and playground taking over the city. Leading up to ADE, we’ll be filling you in on just who and what we’re looking forward to seeing most. And if any of you out there have any insider tips on the best acts to catch, drop either VMan or myself a line and we’ll be sure to add it to our list.
Name: Rustie
Born: January 4th, 1983 (30)
Homebase: Glasgow
Previous Occupations: Apprentice park keeper and tractor operator (source)
Latest Release: “Triadzz / Slasherr”
I’m ashamed to admit producer Rustie really only entered my radar within the past 6 months after falling head over heels in love with the Flume remix of “Slasherr” and consequently the EP’s other half, “Triadzz.” Since then I’ve diving further into his discography, specifically his album, Glass Swords, which was recognized by the Guardian for their first album award in 2012.You might have also noticed his contribution to Danny Brown’s latest game-changing album, “Old.”
The beginning of Rustie’s electronic career could be described as “aquacrunk,” but has since continuously evolved through various artistic styles and trends, while staying true to it’s hip-hop, 8-bit, and grunge roots. It’s dynamic, spontaneous, and unpredictable, which makes it much more of a rewarding listening experience. Even after having his works on repeat for the past few days, I have no idea what to expect in his live set – I mean, other than potentially a guitar? – nevertheless, the anticipation is killing me.
So, if you can’t make it across the pond to Amsterdam this weekend, I’ve got a solution for you. During his set at the Numbers x Lockdown Showcase at Paradiso on Friday, take an hour or two (considering the event lasts for 6!) to dive into some of his stuff. I’ll leave his legendary BBC 1 mix here for you in case you need a starting point…

Pop, Progressive House | Maroon 5 – Love Somebody (It’s The Kue Remix!)
Posted by Mel on June 29, 2013
My favorite song of all time is “Payphone” by Maroon 5. It is for that reason that I will always have a soft spot in my heart for them no matter what. I was already a fan of their original “Love Somebody” but DJ Kue made it that much better by adding a touch more energy to it and a great drop. I have had this on repeat since I first heard it.
Alternative | Radical Something – Tomorrow
Posted by LoffyG on July 9, 2012
So lately I don’t get no answers
I guess we gotta wait for tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow”
This new Radical Something track marks the 5th week in the Summer Of Rad series. Honestly, this is my favorite track they’ve released so far this summer. It has such a soulful vibe to it you can’t help but love it. Songs like these are what make Radical Something so special. The way these three guys produce music together works so well and that’s why they’ve risen to the point they’re at over this past year. Can’t wait to see what these next 7 releases have to offer. Follow Radical Something below and check out the previous Summer Of Rad releases here.
Also Radical Something has a big show coming up on 7/17 at House Of Blues in Los Angeles with Sammy Adams! You can get tickets for that here.
