House | Borgeous Releases “This Could Be Love” With Shaun Frank
Posted by BIGLIFE on December 18, 2014

Prediction: Progressive house is out in 2015. Deep house and future house will be in. Case and point: Borgeous and Shaun Frank’s new “This Could Be Love” masterpiece with Delay Jane assisting on vocals. This isn’t your typical insanely annoying progressive house “banger” that we’re accustomed to from Borgeous, which is good news to our ears and musical sensibilities. Performing last week in Dallas at Lizard Lounge, Borgeous and Shaun Frank take us back to that nostalgic 90’s house sound that everyone is attempting to ride. In this case, they capture it well. My hats off to both producers.
Pick u pBorgeous and Shaun Frank’s “This Could Be Love” out now onn Spinnin’ Deep.

House | Tchami feat. Kaleem Taylor – Promesses (Pep & Rash Remix)
Posted by BIGLIFE on December 8, 2014

Here’s the deal: many moons ago Pep & Rash released a “Promesses” bootleg that’s still up on their Soundcloud. Tchami’s “Promesses” is also seeing a re-release but I digress. Earlier today, they released an updated version (premiered by the one and only Pete Tong) of the record set to release in April on Ministry Of Sound. I’ve said it before and I’m going to say it again: Pep Rash are the next big thing and will have a massive 2015. I love their sound and brand. Shout out to Music Allstars Management.

Off the back of another incredible summer that saw “Cool You Off,” “Breathin'” and “Make Me Feel Good” become staples in the Beatport chart, EDX looks set to finish the year with the same gusto as he started with his latest EP, Collateral Effects, coming through on Enormous Tunes on 1st December, 2014. EDX has stayed true to his sound, finding the perfect balance between deep house synths and Nu-Disco funk to deliver another masterpiece that will make you feel like its summer anywhere and everywhere. “Empathy” and “Collateral Effects” are sure to continue the trend and become Beatport staples upon their release.

FYI | HAYWYRE to assist ringleader Mat Zo for the North American MAD ZOO Takeover

Meet Haywyre. Hailing from oceanside Vancouver, Haywyre is about pushing boundaries and resetting the rules of the game. Slowing down the BPM, Mat Zo has added this heavy bass bumping, beat mashing, pioneer of future electronic sound to the Mad Zoo roster for the label’s Winter Roadshow.
Adding a talent like Haywyre tells us a few things about what to expect from the Mad Zoo takeover:
1. Expect Bass –
With recent releases, Mat Zo is clearly demonstrating that trance won’t be a highlight of this show, although I’m sure the guru of the genre will find a way to incorporate those uplifting sounds into his sets one way or another.
2. Expect Energy –
The video shows it all. Adding Haywyre to the roster is clearly a logical step to facilitate an environment as uncontrollable and unpredictable as a circus. That being said…
3. Expect The Unexpected –
With Mat Zo and his crew, this is a given. This is why we go to a show associated with Mat Zo. This is why we are most excited for Mad Zoo.
We must say, however, that we are sad to see no Canadian dates as of yet – hopefully, by adding this Canadian heavyhitter to the list, that will change. Nonetheless, we congratulate Haywyre in what we are sure will be a very life-changing opportunity.
Melodic Progressive, Trance | Steve Brian ft. Szen – Moringa (Original Mix)
Posted by JT on November 11, 2014

When I first came across Avacado I knew I was on to something. Later he released Time & Time, which rapidly elevated to a top 10 on my iTunes. Now, Steve Brian, once again, has hit it home by utilizing his unique ability to blend funk, rising emotions, epic vocals, and feel-good vibes into a 90’s-meets-2014 smoothie. This German producer has pushed his limits and demonstrates a great rapport with vocalist Szen, extending new boundaries and setting the bar even higher for everyone who follows. Indeed, he’s worked with impressive talents, from Tiesto to James Horner (freakin’ Avatar), and continues to enjoy consistent deck support from Armin van Buuren, Above & Beyond and Ferry Corsten. Is it trance? Is it house? Is it trouse? We don’t really care here at FNT; what matters is getting you through the very dark, narrow tunnel of sound, safely. Here’s Moringa, our latest beacon of light to guide you forward.

Chill, Hip-Hop, Rap | Billy Chambers – Lake House Lullaby
Posted by admin on November 7, 2014
A few weeks back, Billy Chambers grabbed my attention with his bouncy Galimatias-produced track, “Gold”. This week he returned with “Lake House Lullaby” which continues to push forward his new sound. Chambers has the ability to tell a story that captivates and brings the reader in to his shoes. A talent that many strive for, but few actually achieve.
Enjoy this first sampling of the young DMV representative, because I’m sure that there is plenty more to come.
Future House | Oliver Heldens & Mr. Belt & Wezol – Pikachu
Posted by BIGLIFE on October 29, 2014

Previewed for quite sometime now, Oliver Heldens and Mr. Belt and Wezol (who brought us “Feel So Good“) drop an early preview of their “Pikachu” collaboration that stands as another quality release. Sure, it’s that same square wave bass sound but I can’t criticize Heldens for his consistent output. “Pikachu” is available via Spinnin’ Records on November 3rd. Pikachu. Gotta catch em all.
Keep an eye out for Oliver’s “Heldeep Mixtape 6” coming soon.
