Alternative, Hip-Hop | Spark Houston Teases New EP via “Red”
Posted by VMan on October 5, 2021
Toronto, Canada based hybrid artist Spark Houston returns with a new single “Red” off of his forthcoming debut EP. The song showcases his often troublesome relationship with confrontation, competition and ambition. The unique sound he brings to the table on this one blends elements of indie rock and hip-hop, kind of like Gorillaz did in the 2000’s era, but with a different vibe all together. Check out a quote on the release below and stream “Red” above now!
Red is my competition, my drive, my energy and my bravado. In polychrome as a whole project (split amongst three EPS – Red, Blue, and Green) Red is the manic high before the crash of the depressing blue. Red is me rapping as well as anyone alive, knowing entirely that there is no human force that can stop me. Red is high octane. Red is lewd”
In the hook when the line “Red mine, red mine, red yours” is said, it’s an invitation for all of us, both myself and the listeners, to soak in the atmosphere of my intensity. The pitch shifted voice is used as a motif on red, hinting that, although it feels good to be in a place of righteous anger, that perhaps there is a darker element, a morose, a sadness, to that kind of energy. All of that, however, will be more adequately explained on the next EP, Blue.
Progressive House | You Need To Hear NightRider’s Wyclef Jean & Avicii’s “Divine Sorrow” Remix
Posted by VMan on December 18, 2014
Wow, this remix by NightRider of Avicii and Wyclef Jean’s “Divine Sorrow” is divine, and a truly inspiring piece of music. The best part of it all, all the proceeds for the sale of this project go to RED, and AIDS Awareness. I vote more collaborations between progressive house producers and reggae artists, hint: Bob Sinclar “Love Generation” style, I guarantee these are hits waiting to be made! This is a must listen!

The German producer that has been setting the internet abuzz with his Anna Graceman remix of “Words” just released a new remix to thanks his fans on 4,000 likes. This time Glastrophobie remixes the unknown vintage electro record “Red Moon” by the French brothers Those Wicked Hours, based out of Switzerland, into a late night deep house gem. The energy and vibe on this track is just as mysterious as the ‘once in a blue moon’ phenomenon, and it’s addicting. This is a must listen and a must download!

Chill, House | The Red Hot Chili Peppers – Scar Tissue (N’to Remix) [Free Download]

I’m not entirely sure how I missed this, but if you did too, I highly recommend you come check out this remix of The Red Hot Chili Peppers’ “Scar Tissue” – like right now. N’to, a producer from the depths of France, released this housed-up edit about a month ago, and it’s probably one of the coolest twists on a classic track that I’ve heard in a while. So – kick back, relax, and throw this one on repeat for a little while: I promise you won’t be disappointed.

Cover, Mashups, Videos | Timeflies Tuesday – Red Hot Bruno Peppers

Timeflies throw it back, but also keep it current with a mashup cover of Scar Tissue x Grenade. After a recent announcement that the RHCP would be added to the likes of Bruno Mars and whatever other Super Bowl surprises, this could be a realistic preview of what’s to come Sunday night. Taking one of the best songs of the best decade, the 90’s, and lacing it with Bruno Mars’ 2010 hit, this is certainly a unique release for Cal and Rez. On top of indulging in this Tuesday release, grab an earful of Laidback Luke’s remix of Timeflies recent single, “All The Way”, below.

Albums, House, Videos | Dance (RED) Album + Live Stream
Posted by Middy on December 1, 2013
Last year (RED) partnered with Tiësto and Stereosonic to bring an album filled with the best tracks of the year. This time around, the 24-track album features almost entirely new music for the measly price of $9.99 with some dance music’s best, and for a great cause. The album has new tracks from the likes of Dada Life, DallasK, Popeska, Pierce Fulton, Tommy Trash, Felix Cartal, Candyland and much more. My sleeper pick from the album is Eric Prydz’s edit of Deadmau5’s “The Veldt” that he made for his US last summer and some how managed to sneak onto the album with little, to no fanfare. Don’t pirate the album, ALL proceeds go to charity. It’s world AIDS day, consider it your contribution. Kind of late on the live stream, but at this very moment Above & Beyond are streaming their set, so tune in for that. The sets will replay, so you can watch that throughout the day.

Videos | Mike Posner- Tapada World (Steve Morris Remix)

“Red nantucket pants got em’ fitted, “A” did it first that’s why he’s getting all the women.”
That’s right. I finally got mentioned (along with my signature nantucket reds) in a rap song by enigmatic artist Steve Morris. I can officially cross that off my bucket list. While there isn’t any biographical information about Morris that I can find, he’s unleashed a cover of Mike Posner’s Benny Blanco and Diplo produced “Tapada World” single that’s nothing short of exceptional. Tap-tap-tapada world!
