House, Trance | Weekend Mixes 7/24/14

Posted by on July 24, 2014

tomorrowland 2014 FNTI used to these a lot, but life got in the way of me continuing these, but I am back to provide your weekend soundtrack of mixes and sets. Since the weekend starts on Thursdays during the summer (and for many, year-round), I decided to get these to you now so you get going on your way tonight. It will be a mix short on mixes, but high on the quality, highlighted by two from Kristain Nairn, aka Hodor. The Steve Aoki mix is actually kind of dope, there wouldn’t be any cakes thrown to those tunes. Read on for the rest of the mixes.

Progressive House | Marty & Jakko Feat. Jonny Rose – Galaxy

Marty & Jakko Feat. Jonny Rose - Galaxy

As most guys know, 16 isn’t too young. Especially in Brazil, where that’s just status quo. You could even go younger than that if you please but that’s typically the age where boys learn one of the greatest pieces of information they will ever know, the basics of FL Studio. That was the age that Lucas Bojakowski, now known as Jakko started releasing tracks and we have been following him ever since. For his latest single, he joined up with Marty, a little known Canadian producer out of Calgary and vocalist Jonny Rose for “Galaxy”. This is as high a quality track that Jakko has put out and shows why he is capable of growing into an internationally respected artist.

Progressive House | LarsM, Side-B ft. Aloma Steele – Over

LarsM, Side-B ft. Aloma Steele - Over

“Over”, LarsM’s latest release was done in collaboration with Side-B and vocalist Aloma Steele. Even though it is not as melodically impressive as his previous stuff, it is still a quality track worthy of a listen.

DO SOMETHING

Electro, Progressive House | Clean Bandit – Rather Be (Elephante Remix)

Clean Bandit - Rather Be (Elephante Remix)

Much like how a certain chainsmoking duo stole all of our hearts last year, Elephante appears to be on the same track and ready to do the same. The high quality of each release combined with his unique sound is a recipe for success. His latest remix keeps up with his hybrid progressive house fused with electro style and, like always, it’s awesome.

Progressive House | Filo & Peri feat. Audrey Gallagher – This Night (Zack Edward Remix)

Filo & Peri feat. Audrey Gallagher - This Night (Zack Edward Remix)

If you weren’t already impressed by that gorgeous cover art then get ready to possibly be impressed by the song it belongs to. Zack Edward is capable of Axtone quality cover arts but is he capable of Axtone quality tracks? hmmmm… Moving on, Zack Edward is a producer from NYC and has just put out what is probably his best track yet. It is a progressive house remix for Filo & Peri’s “This Night”, a trance song from 2010. The original is great and this remix certainly does it justice.

Progressive House | IVY & GOLD – Not Had Enough (Lonczinski Remix)

IVY & GOLD - Not Had Enough (Lonczinski Remix)

I have not been the greatest of supporters for Lonczinski in the past but even I, a dedicated Skrillex fan am able to recognize the quality in his latest track. He remixed Ivy & Gold’s “Not Had Enough” and it is one of his best pieces of work.

Progressive House | Third Party – Everyday Of My Life

Third Party - Everyday Of My Life

Third Party are perhaps the most melodically talented artists at Size and they never disappoint with their productions, except for the fact that they don’t release enough of them. It has not been long since their impressive “Nobody To Love” remix and they have followed it up superbly. “Everyday Of My Life” is, not surprisingly, a melody driven song. It upholds the high quality of both the duos tracks as well as the releases on Size.
