Dubstep | Perverse – Semblance + Bonus

Posted by on September 24, 2012

Perverse is a duo that plays in the depths of hertz with ear pounding, raw bass as their motto. Although all their production is notable, Semblance was a tune that really caught my attention and resulted in me contacting them times over to get a release date on. They’re now in the process of releasing 4 EP’s with each volume featuring 4-5 tracks, and the first installment is now free and available here

If that was to your liking, I put an extra unrelated gem after the jump.

Dubstep | Truth – Love Shadows EP Pt.2 + Exclusive Interview

Posted by on September 21, 2012

One of my favorite duo’s is back with their last installment to cap off the release of their free LP that was given away in two EP’s. Truth has been supplying some well rounded material for these EP’s showing us everything from Garage style, to dark dubstep, to the heavy grimy material. Featured on this EP is one of their highly anticipated releases, and that is their collaboration with Datsik entitled Too Late. It is hard to single out a favorite on this EP for me being that each track exposes a different side of what this dynamic duo can produce. The use of deep dark sounds is what appeals to me the most about their style of production as well as the slow tempos and unique sounds. The EP is must have for all dubstep fans so grab it off their soundcloud as well as support their social medias provided in the links below. Read on below to check out our interview with this outstanding duo.

Hip-Hop | Tiger Eye- The Explanation (Mixtape)

Posted by on September 13, 2012

Malcolm Gladwell once posited: “We have, as human beings, a storytelling problem. We’re a bit too quick to come up with explanations for things we don’t really have an explanation for.” Watertown’s Tiger Eye, however, is far from having a storytelling problem, as he releases his highly anticipated “The Explanation” mixtape that features production from Skin & Bones, a local hopscotch champion and international man of mystery. When asked about how he would describe the mixtape, Tiger Eye explains it as “a compilation of the sounds Barry Manilow would make if Suge Knight dangled him out of a window on a hot summer’s eve.” Interpret that how you want, but Tiger Eye is an artist on the rise. Be sure to follow him as he continues on his journey via his social media links below.

Electro-House | Schoolboy – Aftershock + Exclusive Interview + Video Premiere

Posted by on September 11, 2012

An FNT favorite, Schoolboy, has just changed pace on his latest release taking a detour from his usual Dubstep tracks to a new colossal original Electro-House track. We have been following Schoolboy for quite some time now and seeing him progress has been a pleasure and finally being able to interview this amazing artist was a privilege (which can be found by clicking on the ‘Read On’ link), but we will get to that after the track.

With the premiere of his crazy spazmatic video of his newest work, Aftershock , Schoolboy is putting himself more and more on the map for the EDM scene. The track has a nice horror, 8-bit sounding intro that fits the mood for the track well. The build up leading to the heavy, growl influenced drop is bass filled enough to send any crowd into a craze, but at the same time tasteful enough to be able to dance to. It always nice to see artist expand out of their comfort zone and be able to conquer other genres as well as put together a full visual production to go along with it. Be sure to show your support and grab this awesome Subhuman release off of Beatport HERE.

Before you head off, click the ‘Read On’ link below to learn a little bit more about Schoolboy and what he had to say when we got the chance to talk with him.

Girl Fire, Pop | TRIPL & ELIAD – BAILANDO FT. LILA (RADIO EDIT)

Posted by on August 29, 2012

So I’ve got this friend in Israel. His name is Shlomo Jamil. Even though we’ve never met, we talk like every single day. We have a hard time understanding each other sometimes, but we communicate via sharing links to music back and forth. He has a passion for music just like I do. He’s basically the Israeli version of me. I’ve always thought “music is a universal language” is such a cliche catch-phrase, but in this case it actually applies. He hits me up tonight, tells me to listen to this. I don’t even understand the lyrics but this is the epitome of girl fire.

So, here’s the deal with TripL & Eliad’s breakout third “Bailando single. The Tel-Aviv production team “TripL” produced it and it interpolates elements from the famed 1997 “Bailando” by “Paradisio”, featuring vocals from Lila. I can already see myself crushing the dance floor in all my white awkwardness. Power pointing towards all the baddest b*tches in the room. Bailando. Caliente. Dale.

Hip-Hop | Accent — The One I Need (Prod. Kid Vision)

Posted by on August 26, 2012

Here it is, world. The premiere of Accent’s new single, “The One I Need,” which will be included on his upcoming EP Sight & Sound, a collaboration with producer Kid Vision (who has gained some FNT notoriety for his production on Kinetics’ “Cosmic Consciousness” and “845”, as well as KAM Royal’s mixtape “Still Waters”). Over a beat infused with soulful sample-chops, Acc spits some of the most ornate rhymes you’ll ever hear from an unsigned artist, pairing together words you didn’t think were possible to rhyme with extraordinary ease. Accent, a gifted spoken-word poet from the L.E.S., has been steadily gaining popularity as an artist since his last mixtape (I Love Nujabes) and most recently from his four features on Kinetics’ With A Little Help From My Friends, including the standout “Make It Work” which also featured Missy Modell. This leak is certainly a testament to how seasoned the skills are of this upstart artist, and how anxious we should all be for Sight & Sound. You can also hear him this Tuesday on Kinetics & One Love’s new album You Are Not Alone, which is dropping on iTunes.

Progressive House | Sam La More – I Wish It Could Last (Moiez Remix)

Posted by on August 19, 2012

Moiez’s prodigious rate of production continues with his latest remix of Sam La More’s “I Wish It Could Last” as first premiered on the inaugural episode of his podcast MoiezMusic. This track takes us to the more melodic side of Moiez’s sound with stellar use of the vocals from the original track, a well constructed melody with a superb arp and soft builds help to create the airy atmosphere in the track.
