Silver Medallion and DJ Fresh Direct released their third installment of their XNX mix series. It is full of the hottest Trap and Dubstep that you’ve come to expect from the series, so play this loud. Tracklist after the jump.

“Normally we post something funny here about things like pr interns, Kirill, club girlz and playing Edward 40 Hands on a Hamptons luxury liner but really we just want you to book us to play your parties so we can convince the powers that be that we’re cool enough to spin some dance festivals ya know?” – Silver Medallion & Dj Fresh Direct

Dubstep, House | Funky Friday #3

Posted by on March 8, 2013

Funky FridayFunky Friday is back again with some fresh grooves to get your Friday night going. Kicking off this weeks post is an awesome mix from funks future self, Aeroplane. Aeroplane has been one of the most consistant Disco-House producers for some time now. Thsi March mix is great, it isn’t too jam packed with tracks that it can’t be enjoyed, but enough to keep the party moving. A sweet download if you are looking to get moving a bit this weekend.

I have even surprised myself with all the mixes that have been involved in Funky Friday. The Knocks have come a long way since being openers for Chiddy Bang. Having been able to catch them live once myself, they tend to sneak in a little bit of the funk. Considering that they usually follow the masses, it is really cool to hear them let loose a little bit more on this mix.

This next track is technically Dubstep, but I could not get over the 80s Miami chord progression on this track. Dr. Ozi really did an awesome job on this original.

Preview, Trance | Estiva & Cardinal feat. Arielle Maren – Wait Forever (Daniel Kandi’s Bangin’ Remix)

Posted by on February 26, 2013

In the immortal words of Carl Cox: Oh yes oh yes! This track is massive, end of story, and while I don’t think anyone really gets hyped by previews these days sometimes something comes along that’s so worthy that you’ve just got to post the YouTube video and grin and bear it. Closest analogue to this song? The inimitable “Satellite” by OceanLab. Similar lyrics, similar chord progression after the chorus, similar overall vibe. That’s not to accuse Mr. Kandi of ripping off the boys of Above & Beyond, however; this remix is excellent in its own right, thanks to an amazing instrumental and otherworldly vocals. Look for this to drop on Beatport on March 18th via Enhanced Recordings — and if you can’t get enough Daniel Kandi, check out his recent remix of “Jewel” by Solarstone and Claire Stagg.

Compilation | Goldroom – Solé Fixtape Vol. 7

The boys over at Solé Bicycles are back at it again with another installment of their monthly Fixtape series. For those of you who aren’t familiar with Solé, they’re a visionary lifestyle brand based in Venice, CA that specializes in fixed gear bicycles. These bikes are definitely worth checking out so don’t sleep on them and keep your eyes peeled for a custom FNT Solé bike which will be released shortly (right Brian Ruben?) This month’s mixtape was crafted by LA’s own Goldroom who provides a sound like nothing we’ve posted before. It’s different, but it’s fantastic…do yourself a favor and just sit back and start a relationship with this sensual mix for the next hour (tracklist after the jump).

After a year of only scarce features and appearances, Drake’s back with a preview off his third album. The video treatment is set to release on or before Grammy Night.

DOWNLOAD: Drake – Started From The Bottom

My good friends,

It has truly been too long. I assume you’re all keeping well and making the most of this year that has been given to us. Today is the day to begin sharing my newest work with you. This is the first single off of my upcoming album. I feel sometimes that people don’t have enough information about my beginnings and therefore they make up a life story for me that isn’t consistent with actual events. My family and my second family (consisting of the best friends anybody could ever have) all struggled and worked extremely hard to make all this happen. I did not buy my way into this spot and it was the furthest thing from easy to achieve. I am proud of every part of my past and I’m excited for this song to find a place in your life as well. I didn’t feel I needed any interviews or radio or press to launch this song. It felt right to come back to the site that I started on and release it to the people that started here with me. Judging by this post, the tour that we’ve been planning, the conversations about new songs and album artwork…I think it’s safe to say we’re back together again. Looking forward to seeing you all soon. – Drake

Electronic, House | Funky Friday #1

Posted by on January 25, 2013

The on going joke between my friend Nammo and myself is that we should have lived our 20s in the 1970s. We just love the funky, disco vibes that just make you want to feel good and break it down. There isn’t anything wrong with a little funk in the week so I decided to start up Funky Friday. This dance filled post will contain Funk, Bass Funk, Disco-House, basically any and everything that could connect with your funky bone. Starting off the first Funky Friday is an epic vinyl only release from Ghetto Funk. It is probably one of the greatest things I have ever heard. Again it is vinyl only release on Jan. 28th. These previews are worth dipping into though.

Next is a golden Disco-House remix from RUNVS. This is my tune of the weekend, I just can’t get enough of it.

This De La Phunk remix is a sort of lounge Disco-House to start, but then two minutes in the finally piece of the puzzle breaks in. This would be such an awesome song to hear live and loud, feeling the beat pound into your chest and exhale through your legs.

It wouldn’t be a funky post without Aeroplane’s Miami synths. 1980s styled Disco-House with a little bit of that Miami spirit going through your speakers.

Cover, Videos | Justin Timberlake – Suit and Tie Ft. Jay Z (PropaneLv Cover) [Video]

Posted by on January 17, 2013

On the heels of the post below, crafted by my legendary partner Mach, I give you another take on Justin Timberlake’s latest single. PropaneLv puts his own twist on the pop sensations latest. I really like this version, but I was a fan of the original, unlike the blogfather, A. This video was edited by FNT veteran Chi Duly, so you know it’s good. Check it out above and make sure you check out Propane’s twitter, you won’t regret it.
