Two Cali-based Icon Collective artists are in the depths of a bass-house journey as their somewhat haunting, certainly mysterious singles continue to creep up. “Drop Out” is next in a line from a recent herd that seem to come from a common place. PhilZen and Jinjun – the two soloist who make up the group – have been toying with the idea of Phenatiks as a duo since last year. 2018 has seen a continuation of the idea for the two and increase in support from a decent range of taste-makers. “Drop It” is set to be a substantial addition to the catalog as Phenatiks keep hitting the beat in more ways than one.

Icon collective artists PhilZen has dropped “Need You,” his next single in a string of releases in the last six months. The tweaks and accents PhilZen added onto future bass puts the genre is bolder, harder hitting arena. The heaviness feel mixed with future bass is the highlight with this one, paired with vocal samples that pop in-and-out at just the right time. PhilZen shows no rate of slowing down in 2017.

PhilZen is beginning to find his groove in 2017. Lately, he has been picking up the pace on his releases – a few weeks ago he released an original “Show Me”, fusing the old with new – the single builds classic house, pop and a more modern dance feel together.
