This coming Monday, Black Butter will be making their first official foray in the birthplace of techno, Detroit, with its party on Monday, May 25th at Populux, where Gorgon City, Kidnap Kid, MK b2b Lee Foss, Dantiez Saunderson, Loud Luxury, and Admn will all be gracing the decks. For a UK label, the significance of this is very special as it is a time to prove themselves in a place where dance music roots run deep, and fans are well educated in underground spheres and beyond. Rather than Black Butter’s Detroit showcase being thought of as a judgement day of sorts, it’s more of a display of artistry that can be enjoyed by the masses. In celebration of the party, we’ve put together a showcase to highlight the top talent that will be guiding the Populux crowd to underground dance music enlightenment. Check it out below and grab tickets to the party here.

Nu Disco | Throttle brings the funk with latest remix

Throttle drips with talent which he puts to use with his newest remix of Conrad Sewell’s “Hold Me Up”. This tune gives the vibe of a lit-up dance floor with a bunch people wearing bell bottoms and a creepy guy in the corner with a massive afro… my kind of party. In all seriousness this song is fire and is sure to get the party moving in the right direction. Always love hearing Throttle’s unique production style. Give it a listen and get your freak on.

Deorro’s good time anthem, “Five More Hours”, pays homage to one of his very first releases, “Five Hours.” With vocals by Chris Brown, the blazing dance floor tune accumulated over 48 million streams on Spotify, and over 32 million streams on YouTube in a few months. Now, the latest rendition of Deorro’s biggest hit to date is getting a proper visual treatment. “Five More Hours'” music video depicts Chris Brown’s car breaking down in the desert leaving him stranded. Shortly after, a bus full of party goers on their way to Coachella comes to the rescue and they all make it to the party just in time, where they meet up with Deorro, and tear up the Sahara tent. Stream the music video above and grab the song on iTunes.

Songs like these amplify the anticipation of warmer weather and better times. I imagine myself with my legs kicked up on my front patio, accompanied by some fruity drink no one can pronounce, looking down on some crazy party with a bunch of babes all in swimsuits dancing to this song. Will that actually be the case this summer? Doubtful, but thats how this song makes me feel. Check out Kaz Verhouzer & Gathier’s “Something Real” and let us know if you feel the same way!
