Electro-House, Videos | Paper Diamond – Better Things
Posted by Middy on December 16, 2011
Paper Diamond released his latest single from his upcoming EP “Paragon” set to release in 2012 yesterday and it is fantastic. As described by Paper Diamond it is a “hip-hop tempo banger, with glitchy rhythms and buildups that crash down into melodic bleeps and bloops. It’s a fun listen that is simultaneously unexpectedly poignant, somehow employing those beats to call forth an emotion that you’d completely forgotten you could experience.” He is on a Winter Tour of the US now and is doing a whole bunch of shows in January and February, so don’t miss out on this opportunity. Above is some sick concert footage from this fall.

Electro, Videos | Jay Fresh | Paper Diamond Concert (Video)

This past weekend, we had the opportunity to check out Paper Diamond in Dallas. The show was epic to say the least, but one of the unforeseen bonuses was that we had a chance to experience a performance by Dallas native, Jay Fresh. His music features upbeat electro production coupled with a spitfire lyrical flow, and his energy on stage compliments this style. See for yourself and check out the footage above, and if you haven’t heard any Jay Fresh, make sure to check out his most recent release below.

Videos | Tuesday Taste: Laidback Luke, Justice, Ocelot, and Paper Diamond
Posted by Mach on September 13, 2011
First, I’d like to take moment to send my best to the families of Tupac and the recently deceased, DJ Mehdi. The wind is calm yet constant. Let your sails fill and your hearts stay full.
I went to Avicii last night in Albany, which was amazing. I am exhausted on the other hand, yet had a decent idea. Tuesday Taste will be something new for the FNT fans. The plan is to do it every Tuesday, depending on its popularity. The idea behind Tuesday Taste is there is only so much music we are able to post daily without overwhelming everyone. This post will provide tracks we have either missed or just under the radar stuff I think some of you will enjoy. I refuse to limit these posts, so if you have ideas for the next Tuesday, drop them in the comments.
I am usually not a fan of Laidback Luke’s style of electro, but this remix I could not resist.

Justice are pioneers, taking rock to a new, electro vibed level. They may have been around for some time, but their new album is going to awesome.

I found this track very interesting. I know who Ocelot is, but I have never given any of his works the time of day. This remix of his is new, and one of the hottest hip-hop/dubstep tracks I have heard.

This last track has been floating around the net for a week or so now. Slacking? Yes, but I hope you can forgive us. I really enjoy everything Paper Diamond releases, Levitate is one of my favorite EPs.

Events | Aspen – Where the beer flows like wine
Posted by GMONEY on September 10, 2011
FNT covered Jazz Aspen Snowmass this Labor Day Weekend 2011 in Snowmass Village, CO, cautious of record high cougar percentages. Friday night’s electronic lineup consisted of Something Underground, Sorry for Partying, Paper Diamond, Thievery Corporation, and Girl Talk. The highlights of the night were undoubtedly Paper Diamond and Girl Talk. Paper Diamond threw down an energizing set of fresh beats with a vibe similar to Pretty Lights. Girl Talk followed with a demonstration of true mashup genius fueling a two-hour mountain party. The following night’s lineup included Ryan Bingham and the Dead Horses, Rodrigo y Gabriela, and Steely Dan. The Mexican duo Rodrigo y Gabriela jammed rhythmic and fast acoustic guitars, keeping the crowd thoroughly entertained. Older couples were pleased with Steely Dan’s jazz-influenced style of music.

Electro | Example, Patric Mcfly, and Paper Diamond | Electro
Posted by Mach on April 5, 2011
No better way to start of some sick electro then show off my sword back from being repaired. Yeah thats right, I rock the old school FNT hat. This first track is catchy as all hell. I could have listened to it all day if it weren’t for that Reptile track. Example hasn’t dropped a sick track like this in some time.

Someone a few days ago was complaining we don’t put up enough heavy electro. Patric Mcfly made a really heavy, but cool track. Throw in some wobbles and we got a dubstep track.

Paper Diamond dropped his track a few days ago. Due to the basslines it is actually Electro-Dub, but don’t let that keep you away from it. He kills it on this track, I would go as far as saying its almost a mashup.

Dubstep, Electro, Hip-Hop | BANGER | Paper Diamond’s “Power” Remix
Posted by GMONEY on January 21, 2011
Paper Diamond’s remix of Kanye West’s “Power” is the sort of weekend starter us FNT-ers need (especially as I head back to NYC) . Alex B, the madman behind “Paper Diamond,” is a seasoned producer who hails from Colorado. Alex’s raw energy shines through this remix, as the bass hits hard.
Paper Diamond’s debut EP, Levitate, will drop for free on January 25th via Pretty Lights Music and Elm&Oak Records. I can’t get over how good this track is. Up until the EP drops, this song will be stuck on repeat (only four days left). For more information, check out his Facebook.

BONUS: Back in September, Magnetic Man, the UK dubstep trio comprised of Skream, Artwork and Benga, released “Getting Nowhere,” an impressive track featuring John Legend. Skream has now remixed the track and given it an even better sound.
