Pop | Katy Perry – Unconditionally (Nick* New Wave Remix) + One Direction Remix
Posted by Mel on October 27, 2013
I’m not sure if I’ve told you guys yet, but I love pop music. Katy Perry has been a favorite of mine since “Teenage Dream” and even though I wasn’t a huge fan of “Roar”, I still had hope that one day we would be a thing. That’s only a joke of course because I’m 19 and she is older than 21 which is my cut off. People older than 21 freak me out. I can’t tell whether they want to date me or tuck me into bed at night and tell me it’s okay to be a little below average. It’s a shame really, because when I first heard her latest single “Unconditionally” it was right up there with the time that guy stood at the urinal directly next to me even though there was like 5 available ones as one of the highlights of my week (I think he even took a peek but I can’t be sure). So, what do I think of the track you ask? I don’t know. I just woke up from a nap so I’m super grumpy. I drank a whole thing of Kool-Aid last night it was crazy. I have only heard it twice I believe. Once while driving to work and again while leaning on the window ledge shirtless seductively making eye contact with high school girls who walk by my house.
I thought the original was fantastic but that was only until I heard this remix. Quite honestly, this should be the original track. It has a certain cinematic aspect behind it that makes the vocals burst and the whole track overall feel more powerful. The producer behind this remix goes by remixedbynick, or Nick*, I actually don’t know because his branding is slightly confusing. It doesn’t matter though because girls love Nicks… big Nicks… Nick has gotten a following by remixing pop songs into slightly different and usually better pop songs. He likes One Direction too, as do I, so I’m also posting his remix of their hit song “Kiss You”. God I love that song. I realize that this post will make me appear less of a man but here’s one thing that bodes well in my favour: When I was 15 my family went to the zoo during Christmas and my mom asked me to wear a scarf. I told her no, I didn’t want to because that’s girly. She got mad at me and forced me to wear it the whole time we were there. I was then called gay by passing by middle schoolers.

Chill, Electronic, Indie | Tycho – Awake
Posted by W8 on October 15, 2013
After having this track on repeat for the better part of this entire night, Awake unanimously became post worthy. A little more than nothing appeases my interest lately so this was a relief to hear. Tycho arrives back after a brief absence from their last album Dive, out of that came one of the most chillified tunes ever – A Walk that we posted back in ’11. It’s unfortunate that Awake or anything Tycho for that matter has to fall short of summer like this but none the less vote with your dollars and support good music.

Hip-Hop | Robbie Maxx feat. ReyGLPA – That Shit Cray
Posted by VMan on October 3, 2013
Here’s some local hip-hop from Robbie Maxx featuring ReyGLPA “That Shit Cray.” I had seen this video on Twitter yesterday, and felt like showing love to these artists today. I fux with this beat heavy, reminds me of a Danny Brown record, and the fellas do their thing on it. I can see this record getting played at the clubs, it’s catchy and ignorant, and I mean that with all respect. Also word on the street, Robbie Maxx is ‘opening up for Dirt Nasty tomorrow night at Webster Hall, so here’s to your FNT debut, and best of luck on the show!
Exclusive, Featured, Interviews | Stereoshock Helps Me Get A Date, Explains The Tissues On His Desk & More

April 19th, 2012, the day started just like any other. I had woken up a few minutes later than usual and after doing the math, figured that I would miss about five minutes of my first class. I then decided to skip the whole day and stay home. As per usual when I don’t go to class, I bump it up to twice a day. Two girls were texting me at the time so I was just super busy, the time that had been allocated for me to study and do the work that I was missing was pushed aside in order to make room to mow the lawn, like my dad had asked me to days prior. I didn’t mow the lawn and instead went to Best Buy to get some Beats by Dre Studio’s. I got them, in black for some reason, came home and bumped it up once again to three times a day. After my third Klondike bar of the day, making my bi-hourly visit to Soundcloud seemed like the next obvious choice.
It was then that I became acquainted with 20 year old, New York based producer Stereoshock, or as his mother calls him Josh Cohen. I was eating some leftover chilli at the time and accidentally spilled some on my shirt but it didn’t matter, because the song I was listening to was just so good. It wasn’t an original, but it sure sounded like it. At that point forward I was aware that an edit or mashup could be more than vocals thrown over an instrumental or simply interchanging two songs drops. Stereoshock has a level of sophistication in both his edits and originals that is not seen very often. Over time we’ve become friends, and he expressed interest in an interview, so I obliged. Be warned that this interview is extremely serious. We talk about only the most important topics that other artists refuse to.

They let the stream be a little more fluid last night, so we hope for more of the same. TomorrowWorld ends tonight so expect the grand finale to have ridiculous amounts of fireworks and crazy visuals with Armin closing the whole festival.
