House | Calvin Harris – Feel So Close (Special Features Remix)

Posted by on October 11, 2011

Special Features crushes this remix by twisting Calvin Harris’s “Feel So Close” with some upbeat electro. He’s a 20-year-old budding producer from London with a very new school electro/progressive style. The last remix of his that we posted for Avicii & Guetta’s “Sunshine” went number 1 on hypem 3 times. Make sure you check out both tracks and like them on Facebook here.

Girl Fire, Pop | Rihanna – We Found Love (Prod. by Calvin Harris)

Posted by on September 22, 2011

Ri Ri you gon’ dun it again. The newest radio hit from Rihanna just premiered on the London waves and quickly made it’s way to FNT. This electro/pop banger is supposedly the first off Rihanna’s newest album, the first since LOUD back in’10, which is set to drop in November. Shout out to producer Calvin Harris for cooking up a synth smashing beat.  As always, expect every 16 year old girl and their mother to be fist pumping to this one.

P.S. Chances she wrote this one for J. Cole?

Electro | The Girls Can Hear Us – The AP (Mixtape) | Electro-Rap

Posted by on May 24, 2011

After a long wait, The Girls Can Hear Us has finally released their mixtape, “The AP“. For those of you that have been living under a rock, TGCHU is made up of Will Steep who raps over his own electro productions, and Mike Dunn who dj’s and mixed the tape. Both hail from London, Canada. Rather than being in a normal single track format, the whole tape is just one long 22 minute mix. That kind of makes it a pain to find the best tracks and appreciate each song, but I definitely recommend listening to the entire thing. I managed to get my hands on a couple individual tracks though thanks to Will. Show them some love on Facebook.

Hip-Hop | Back to school BANGERS

Katy Perry – Firework (Produced by Stargate)(5 stars) Not only is she my biggest celebrity crush but she is on fire right now. Don’t be too cool to get this because it is fire.

Roll Deep – Green Light(5 stars) My buddy who lives in London sent this to me and said its blowing up over there. Since Taio Cruz made the jump over the pond I don’t see why this wont either. PARTY HARD to this boys and girls.

Souljah Boy – Blowing Me Kisses (Prod. By Bei Maejor)(4 stars) I feel weird saying this but this track is super catchy. Souljah Boy has come out with some RnBish tracks and Bei Major happened to produce this. Pretty catchy. Worth a listen for sure.

Dubstep, Hip-Hop, Techno | New Sam Adams Leak

Posted by on July 6, 2010

Our dubstep fans will absolutely love this 2 min verse. Sam goes in hard over the Rusko track Woo Boost to produce a completely singular vibe. It’s always difficult for me to add rap verses to this type of music in my head, but Sams renditions always seem to work out flawlessly. Hopefully Boston’s boy laid down a few other beats like the one posted below (and the one in the vid above) during his recent trip to London. Support Sam by picking up a hardcopy of his Boston’s Boy EP

Hip-Hop | J. Cole – Hello Good Morning Freestyle

Posted by on July 3, 2010

While J. Cole was in London, he visited DJ Semtex (who’s the man) and freestyled over Diddy’s “Hello Good Morning”. Here’s how I see this Drake and J. Cole debate. J. Cole reminds me of Nas while Drake reminds me of Jay-Z. Drake will likely have the more illustrious career, but J. Cole will have the respect.
