Hip-Hop | Lil Wayne – Public Service Announcement (30 min. Documentary?)
Posted by GMONEY on October 8, 2011
Weezy just put out this documentary, if you will, of him venting out about a variety of things. Wanye discusses the recent passing of Steve Jobs and from that goes on to wonder if people will remember him for his greatness when he dies. He than goes on to say how syrup is part of southern culture and goes on to explain his point of view on the drink in a very creative way to say the least. Regardless of your thoughts on Lil Wayne the video above is a good watch if you’re trying to kill some time on this Saturday afternoon.
Hip-Hop, RnB | T-Pain ft. Wiz Khalifa & Lily Allen – 5 O’clock
Posted by Grubeats on September 9, 2011
How bout another new cut from T-Pain; destination unknown. Receiving assistance from Lily Allen on the hook and a nice verse from Wiz which surprisingly differs from his standard weed n’ party raps, may give this song enough nut to revive his career. No confirmation whether or not this track will be featured on the Nappy Boy’s forthcoming studio album, rEVOLVEr, which is beginning to be placed in company with R.E.D. and Detox for most delayed projects. Ok, that may be an exaggeration, but we’re coming up on 3 years of delays and auto-tune isn’t as cool as it used to be. I’m not sure this song has radio potential quite yet, but if T-Pain doesn’t make a move soon, I see him falling off fast with his buddy Lil Wayne.
Hip-Hop | Lil Wayne ft. Jadakiss & Drake – It’s Good (Jay-Z Diss)
Posted by GMONEY on August 24, 2011
The above video gives insight into what supposedly instigated this whole diss track. I think anybody who has the slightest bit of business acumen will chuckle when they watch this video of Birdman claiming that he’ll be a billionaire one day. If Jay-Z hasn’t done it yet, Birdman most definitely won’t. Period. Even so, this is besides the point. This diss track is yet another leak off Wayne’s The Carter IV, which will be out for digital download right after the MTV VMA’s this Sunday. If there is one thing that confuses me about this track it’s the Drake feature. Diehard Drake fans will surely remember Drizzy’s line in Fear, which was on So Far Gone.
“I never cried when Pac died, but I probably will when Hov does, and if my tears hold value, then I will drop one for everything he showed us.”
Drake isn’t the type to appear on a diss track, especially one directed towards Jay-Z, who at one point publicly admitted that he wished he had signed Drake. Additionally Hova praised Drake in his song Star Is Born. If there’s one surefire bet about this track its that if there isn’t already a Roc Nation – Young Money rivalry, then there is now… What do you think about this? Sound off in the comments section…
Hip-Hop | Rick Ross Ft. Lil Wayne – 9 Piece

I’m speechless right now. I’m just absolutely speechless. How unoriginal could this cop get? The only thing remotely good about this video was that the bawse included southern hip-hop legends 8Ball & MJG. That’s it. Let me say this. I love Rick Ross. I can’t get enough of the bawse. However, if you’re a rapper and you’re still selling dope off your iPhone you’re losing. On top of that, does anyone notice how weak Wayne’s verses have been lately?
Since he decided to get off the purple drank (which Drake is heavily using now) he hasn’t been on the same level musically. It’s like he’s just mailing in verses. Mark my words, Wayne won’t ever do Carter III numbers again. He doesn’t have the hype surrounding him like Drake does. Hell, nobody wants to work with him because he doesn’t pay you. He should drop at least two mixtapes (I know he’s coming with “Sorry For The Wait”) before the album. Somebody hire me as their brand manager already.
I hate to say it, but I can tell Wayne feels under appreciated right now. How do I know this? Because he announced in an interview with XXL that he feels, “under appreciated”. If he wants to feel appreciated again, maybe he’ll step up the quality of his product. I’ll give the bawse a get out of jail free card for now. Besides, It’s deeper than snacks. UGHN!

As a bonus, I’ve included Kevin Cossom’s “Racks” remix. Yes, I know I’m late. I don’t want to hear it in the chatbox. I’m simply posting it because many blogs overlooked it and I prefer this over the original version.

Hip-Hop | Kelly Rowland – Motivation (feat. Fabolous, Busta Rhymes, and Trey Songz) | Hip-Hop

The original version of this track most likely took over a radio station near you during the past month or so. Fortunately for lovers of the first release, Fabolous, Busta Rhymes, and Trey Songz flipped the track a little to give it a refreshing face lift. Although none of them murder their verse as well as Lil Wayne, some people might be partial to this new release because it features more rapping and less Kelly Rowland.

This track has DJ Khaled as the main artist, which really pisses me off. I’m pretty sure he doesn’t produce so I can’t see why he gets so much credit. As for the video, I think it speaks for itself, the guy is acting like hes some fitness guru when he has the physique of a penguin. As far as the track goes, I’m glad to see drizzy killing hooks again.

This song, featured in the movie “Fast Five”, features the Brazilian rapper Marcelo D2. The beat features old-school samples, horns, piano riffs – it’s legit. 4.5/5

I hate myself for posting this but Enrique was doing his thing on the official remix of “Dirty Dancer” with Lil Wayne, Usher, and Nayer. Dance song. 4/5

Ty$’s new mixtape, “Hou$e on the Hill” samples a ton of electro songs. One of his best cuts off the album, “All Star”, samples SHM’s “One”. Check it out. 4/5

When the original “Cat Daddy” dropped, I thought the beat was sick, but the Rej3ctz flow was mediocre. Audio Push hopped on the remix and came out with a dirrty flow. 4/5
