Hip-Hop | Ab-Soul – Nibiru (Prod. by JMSN)
Posted by W8 on August 16, 2012
It’s a rare moment to hear this level of awareness being conveyed to this demographic. A track like this comes less often then Nibiru transits. Ab-Soul made the entirety of the track quotable, and JMSN came through with a quality beat. I breathe this knowledge, and it feels like yesterday I was tuned in to the live radio show at the end of this track. I appreciate the lyricism although certainty of any kind bothers me. You know some thoughts and words, me too! Imagine it’s all fiction if that helps. Thanks goes to Anu.
Electro, Girl Fire | Danny Olson & Adam Nello – Both Of Us (Remix) (Ft. Missy Modell)
Posted by GMONEY on July 19, 2012
It’s no secret, I’m a sucker for a bit of Girl Fire. So what exactly is Girl Fire? Well, I’m glad you asked…basically its any track that makes ladies dancefloor hungry, and typically includes some kind of female vocal. There is no doubt in my mind that the current king of Girl Fire has to be Danny Olson… his recent remix to Nelly Furtado’s Big Hoops was an absolute bomb.
For his latest creation, Danny has teamed up with Adam Nello and Missy Modell to conquer Taylor Swift, Both of Us. Needless to say, it was a success, so check it out..
Videos | Behind The Scenes: Tum Tum’s “Yeah Doe” Video
Posted by A on July 12, 2012
Let’s get something straight. I’m a Dallas guy. I grew up on Big Tuck and Tum Tum. They’re nothing short of legends in the city, and it’s good to see them making music together. Although I couldn’t make the video shoot (I’m sorry Bric!) the good folks at HULK ENT were kind enough to release a behind the scenes look into the highly anticipated video featuring B-Hamp, Dorrough, and a few lady friends. Although Big Tuck wasn’t on the original track, it seems we may just be getting a classic verse from the purple hulk. Could this be the record that unifies Dallas and puts the ball back in our court? I say, Yeah Doe!
Albums, Dubstep | Minnesota – Astral Projection EP
Posted by Middy on May 22, 2012
The Clairvoyant Californian dubstep producer, Minnesota who is no stranger to you guys, has been kind enough to release a stunning 3 track EP for free. With various vocal bits that sound a bit like a late night w8 rant, Minnesota delivers these flawless productions that are both thoughtful and moving. Minnesota is not going to jolt your senses with jaw dropping bass lines or screeching pitched synths, he relies more on subtleties of his work, crafting each bit the song to create the musical journey that is this Astral Projection. Relying more on sweeping synth chords, adept, agile key play and subtle yet very complex bass lines, Minnesota has gifted us a lasting treasure with this 3 track EP.
Also included is the Astral Projection Mix, a 25 minute mix that included the album tracks, a few remixes of his and some unreleased material. Definitely something you do not want to pass up on. Tracklist after the jump.
Moombahton | Moombah Mondays
Posted by Sev on May 21, 2012
We’re finally back with another edition of the good ole Moombah Monday’s. This week I will stick to what you guys have been asking for, and that’s nothing but that 110bpm goodness. D!RTY AUD!O decided to crank out a heavy Moombahcore original track today and thank god I held off a little so I could post it on here. The melody in this track is one of a kind with a grimey, thick drop. We don’t usually see these heavy sounds from him, but he nailed this mix on point.
Will Bailey contributing some Moombahcore this week as well with a heavy hitting original entitled Spider. Seems as though the only thing separating Moombahton and Dubstep these days is the bpm. The sounds are slowly merging into one and this is a good example of it.
Alright you guys have to excuse me for being a little on this next remix, but what a remix it is. I couldn’t help myself but be overjoyed when I heard this remix all the way through today. It was not even close to what I was expecting to hear. The build up to the drop had me sitting on the edge of my seat, and it was well worth the wait. The best way to to try and explain this track is by letting you hear it.

Dubstep | R Rated #29
Posted by Sev on May 17, 2012
Due to some technical difficulties yesterday, I wasn’t able to make it back to the site when it was back online so we had to push back R Rated unfortunately. No worries though, that just means more bass driven bangers for you guys to enjoy. For example this amazing VIP was given away on UKF today by DC Breaks. Given that the original was a Dnb masterpiece, this VIP dubstep mix utilizes the vocals to the max with some new synth additions along the amazing bassline melody. Next up we check out some of the previews and released tracks of the week. Ajapai has been doing work on Rottun records releasing a contstant flow of heavy hitting tunes. You can add his latest single to that list, which is comprised of some aggressive sounds almost resembeling some of the sounds from Downlinks – Factory.
We haven’t heard much from Mojo since his release of Carnival , but now it looks like his EP for Buygore is near completion with previews up on their Soundcloud. I’m kind of bummed this collaboration isn’t featured on the EP because of it’s a one of a kind heavy hitting drop. I’ll be on the lookout for an official release for this one.
Toning it down just a little bit on this next remix; TYR brings a top of the line remix to Calvin Harris’s latest collaboration with Ne-Yo entitled Let’s Go. Being that it is for a remix competition he isn’t allowed to give this remix out just yet. Each drop in this track is different and pretty dope which was why I had to feature it this week. There not insanely crazy drops, but they’re a style that resembles a fusion between old school Flux Pavillion and Nero drops we used to see. The second drop definitely won me over on this one. Be sure to vote for this remix on the Beatport remix competition HERE.

Drum & Bass | DnB Saturdays
Posted by Sev on May 12, 2012
Summer has begun (well at least for me) and that means festivals and music all day everyday. Not being able to post for almost a week because of finals was driving me crazy, so this is the first post of many. Xilent has slowly climbed up my chart of favorites near the top with his melodic yet bass bumping Dnb and Dubstep. Being released on Tuesday is his newest EP “UltraFunk” with some promising tracks, incuding this amazing monstrous original DnB track entitled Do It. Great stuff from Audio Porn Records; they wont be disappointed with this one at all. The next and last preview was sent to us from our friends over at InfraRed music providing us with nothing short of the best in Dnb. Rewind dropping a new track that is heavy on the bass and the perfect secret weapon for destroying any crowd. The track should be releasing within the next month so stay tuned for more information on its release.
This has to be one of the best free giveaways in the past month thanks to Loadstar. These guys are masters of Dnb, and they gave the fans this nice little two track EP. Second Skin just absolutely melted my face off when I heard and I just can’t stop jamming to the sick basslines. Don’t pass up on these or else you will regret it.
Drumsound and Bassline Smith being kind enough to grace us with a freebie this week as well. Really interesting melody choice for this track, nevertheless is still goes hard. These guys are bringing the bass as well and also the crazy synth sounds. Amazing progression of instrumentsx through the track as well.
