Electronic | Zedd Feat. Matthew Koma & Miriam Bryant – Find You (Moiez Remix)
Posted by Mel on March 10, 2014
“Why would I need a girlfriend when I’ve got this small gap in my couch” is something I occasionally ponder and the answer is companionship. You can’t take a couch to the beach. A similar question of “Why would somebody remix a Zedd song when the original is so good” is also a thought I have whenever I listen to a Zedd remix. A large majority of the time they are inferior to the original, but that is not necessarily the case with Moiez’s remix of “Find You”. Moiez’s style has always primarily been progressive house, although he has strayed from that here. He says he wanted to challenge himself to become a more versatile artist and make something original. The result is a song that incorporates elements of multiple genres. He says this is one of his favorite remixes he has done and after taking a listen, you’ll understand why.

For those who know the story behind this tune, you’ll know that FNT has been behind it since day 1, way back before it got signed to Warner, when it was just Kinetics & One Love recording songs in their dorm room, so when Prince Fox’s team hit me up with a remix of B.O.B. and Hayley Williams from Paramore’s “Airplanes” I couldn’t help but reminisce how dope this track is. Although in the top 40 realm it seems that tracks become irrelevant after a certain time, I can surely say that ‘Airplanes” is a classic, and Prince Fox did good with a capricious and romantic remix that you’ll gladly enjoy! This is a must listen and a must download!

Exclusive, Featured, Progressive House | FNT Exclusive: Sevyn Streeter Feat. Chris Brown – It Won’t Stop (Sevag Area-201 Remix)
Posted by Middy on February 4, 2014
Pop smash “It Won’t Stop” from Sevyn Streeter & Chris Brown’s gets a progressive makeover from Sevag. Sevyn Streeter wrote on several of Chris Brown’s recent hit singles like “Yeah 3x”, so the original collab was bound to happen. Sevag works with the original, but adds a punchy, bouncy bass line and remakes the melody to fit his vision. If you are looking for a refresher of this tune, or a remix that makes excellent work of pop vocals, this one is definitely for you. Anyone in the NYC area, catch him every Saturday at his residency at Mister East that will include a show alongside Mark Knight on the 15th.

Indie, Pop | The Golden Pony Feat. Suntalk – Bonfire

A few weeks back I introduced The Golden Pony’s remix of Peaches “F*ck the Pain Away,” and today the afro boy duo is back with an original “Bonfire,” an indie nu-disco pop record with soul, which I think they get from their fros, featuring vocals from Suntalk an indie nu-disco pop record with soul, which I think they get from their fros. The story behind this track is pretty interesting, and I’ll let them tell it:
“Bonfire” was written after reading this proverb called “The Zen of Work”. It goes “When you do something, you should burn yourself up completely, like a good bonfire, leaving no trace of your self”. For some reason it reminded us of our favorite musicians who died young like Jimi, Janis, Otis, Jim Morrison, and Kurt.

Dubstep, Electro, Trance | Seven Lions with Myon & Shane 54 Ft. Tove Lo – Strangers
Posted by J-Tiffy on August 25, 2013
Seven Lions fans, rejoice! My eyes light up whenever I see Seven Lions’ name, and if you’re like me, you’ll be itching to dig into this tune if you haven’t already. He tackles this project with vocalist Tove Lo and house/trance production duo Myon and Shane 54. The song is part of the original motion picture soundtrack for Mortal Instruments: City of Bones. It is an immensely ambitious track, even for a revolutionary artist like Seven Lions. Not only does it combine his signature cocktail of trance and dubstep, but we can hear a lot of house elements in the mix and, more interestingly, a heavy reliance on a gnarly minimal electro drop.
Progressive House | Cole Plante With Myon and Shane 54 Feat. Koko LaRoo – Lie To Me

I had the pleasure of being introduced these past 2 days to 16 year old DJ/Producer Cole Plant. Just looked up his music, and I had to share. I give this kid a lot of props and I have tremendous respect for him. He was shown the ropes by his father, working on records at his home studio, and has now finished up a tour opening for legend Paul Oakenfold, and headlined Lollapalooza in Chicago. Here’s a dope progressive house record called “Lie To Me” which was co-produced with Myon and Shane 54 and features the vocalist Koko LaRoo. Cole says that one of his favorite records is Motorcycle’s “As The Rush Comes,” and you hear these influences in this record. You can also anticipate a remix by R3HAB soon! Must listen, and support!
