I met Grand Pavilion last year while staying at a hostel in Prague. The two-member, uber-talented group hails from Brisbane, Australia. I spent some time looking into the band and their live setup blew me away. Shades of Robert Delong. Here is the single from their debut EP released last year. I reconnected with the band and plan to start following them more closely as they have another EP coming out very soon. I am super stoked about the upcoming release because the group was traveling around Europe last year recording audio samples everywhere from the Black Forest to the crowded streets of Paris.

When Mysteryland touched down in Bethel Woods last year, it brought one of Europe’s most iconic festival brands to America. Mysteryland has always offered a nearly unmatched blend of music and art, making it one of the most popular festival in the world, and Mysteryland USA was no different. This year, for the second iteration of Mysteryland in the states, the festival will be featuring the musical talents of Kygo, Dillon Francis, Porter Robinson, Damian Lazarus, and many more, as well as welcoming the return of the Smorgusburg food festival, a refreshing aspect that only serves to further separate Mysteryland from the typical festival. While it’s a monumental task to capture the ethos and essence of the twenty-year-old festival brand in a short four minute video, Mysteryland’s brand new trailer highlights their signature stage design, breathtaking shots of Bethel Woods, and gives insight into the festival’s long past.

While remaining on the chill side of electronic, this track has enough speed and percussion to push it away from words like mellow. Alizzz is from Barcelona, and is currently on tour in Europe. Throughout my time studying and traveling here in Europe, I’ve somehow managed to meet heaps of Aussies everywhere I go. I’ll admit I love their company so I don’t mind but at times it makes me wonder if they’re in the works of some secret, global takeover of sorts…. Anyways, today’s first track, “Shy Guy,” was brought to my attention by word of mouth from a Sydney native whom I encountered in my hostel in Berlin last week. I was pleasantly surprised to give it a listen later on and discover that it was in fact worth a second, third, and fourth listen after that. Happy Endings, although lacking almost any kind of background information, seems to be a deep house-producing duo led by Melbourne Bounce star Fat Blake. There’s something unique about this track compared to a lot of other songs from this genre that I’ve been listening to that I can’t quite put my finger on, but that makes me all the more excited to see what they come out with next.

Can we all just stop and take 2:48 to remember this amazingly ridiculous (because of the video) / actually-good (because of the music) song released back in 2010 by Ed Banger duo, DJ Mehdi and Riton, off their EP “Black Billionaires EP”. Even though the video features a super hyphy 80’s crowd getting down to some original electro, don’t let the retro get to you; this song is pretty epic. Taking you back in time, the beat is absolutely perfect. Gare du Nord (“North Station”) is one of the six large terminus stations of the SNCF mainline network for Paris. It offers connections with several urban transportation lines, including Paris Métro, RER and Buses. By the number of travelers, at around 190 million per year, it is the busiest railway station in Europe and outside Japan. I can only imagine people in Paris going beserk to this song in their world-renowned clubs… Like I said, epic.
