Well, it’s that time of the month again. Kap Slap has released his second installment of his bi-monthly mix, entitled the, “Slapcast.” When it comes to hour long mixes, I’m not sure anyone else really compares to what Kap Slap can do with an hour of music. Slapcast Volume 2 starts off just as you’d expect with a perfect intro track from none other than Kaskade which is the blended seamlessly with some vocals from Ellie Goulding & Calvin Harris’s smash hit, “I Need Your Love.” I won’t giveaway too much more, but there’s a double feature from Krewella, a sample of 3LAU’s new track, & some ridiculous signature style bootlegs from the man himself, Kap Slap. I hate to do this to ya’ll on a Monday morning, listening to this track might make you want to go back to sleep, but this track is just too damn good. Scouting the internet for some new music, I noticed Tiesto remixed Ellie Goulding’s most recent record “Burn,” and being the unconventional type, I looked into other remixes of “Burn” that are out there. I fell on Maths Time Joy’s official remix of the record, peeped his SoundCloud, and I discovered this beauty, “Let Go” by Maths Time Joy remixed by Manila Killa . This is a very chill, laid back tune, one that you can vibe with, so just let it flow… It’s a must listen and a must download! Have yourself a great day!

In a world so over saturated with rushed productions and distasteful “EDM” remixes, finding a remix that brings the original track into a new light while still accentuating the beauty of the original has become an impossible task. Too often do we see the sonorous vocals of Ellie Goulding or Adele trashed with the accompaniment of a preset synth in Nexus followed by a cheesy drop. But every once in a while, you come across something else. You come across a remix that has not only given new life to an already inspiring song, but a remix that has actually bettered the track, all whilst still encompassing it’s original beauty and stems. Someone call up Daughter and sign this as an official remix, I tip my hat to you Dotcom.

Triad Dragons are a group based out of Denver consisting of three producers. I wasn’t overly impressed with their previous work but when I heard their remix of Ellie Goulding’s “I Know You Care” I was blown away. Out of the many that I’ve heard, this is perhaps my favorite Ellie Goulding remix.

After receiving a cosign from the one and only Ellie Goulding the other week for his remix of DJ Shwann & ComletJ’s “Bushido” (can be streamed below as well), the young Miami producer Nexus is back with a brand new original track entitled “We Got It” featuring none other than Hi-Rez and Kyle. The track demonstrates a new side for the talented producer fusing together hip hop and melodic dubstep to create an amazing summer jam. Sorry about the absence of Funky Friday last week, but here we go. This is such a great freebie from Marvel Years on Gravitas Recordings. I wasn’t expecting this to be so mellow and include a little Hip-Hop soul. Once the beat takes off you will fall in love with song. The track is part of a free 5 track EP from Marvel Years, “Nowhere But Up,” available below. After listening to the whole EP, I highly recommend it. It’s funk-tastic. Happy downloading.

I wish Louis La Roche was more popular, I love almost everything he has done. I am sick of hearing Ellie Goulding at this point, but this remix is more than enough to be able to bare her. In fact, Louis did an exceptional job with the instrumentals of this remix.
This last artist is someone I literally just came across. Cee-Roo is Funk and Soul. Most of his music is a few months old but that wont stop from sharing a few favorites from him.
