Bootleg, Dubstep | Justice – D.A.N.C.E. (CRNKN Bootleg)
Posted by Grubeats on March 23, 2012
Oh God, Grube’s posting Dubstep, hide ya’ kids, hide ya wife! Yes, I’m stepping out of my comfort zone on this one and if you think I should go back into my hip-hop shell, tell me, I won’t be offended. CRNKN, who is a native to my Granite State, is a recognizable name for the avid FNT followers as he’s been stirring some audio waves for a couple months now. On top of that, anyone who saw my post on Logic’s Justice remix of “D.A.N.C.E.” knows how much I love the beat. I’m not going to try to sound technical like I know what I’m talking about cause I don’t, but trust me on this one, this joint from CRNKR cracks.
P.S. He’s looking for a new logo so any designers out there that are up for the task, hit him up on Facebook or Twitter and check his SoundCloud here.

I have never been caught so off guard from a track as much as this one. Hulk did the unthinkable, and made this radio top 40’s song into an absolute dubstep banger. I wasn’t lying to you guys when I said subscribe to Bass Union for some sick exclusives. Be sure to like these guys on FACEBOOK as well. First up we have Delta Heavy’s latest remix of Maverick Sabre’s next single releasing on April 22nd. This tune DnB heaven and Mach and I are big fans of this remix along with most of their other tracks.

Dubstep | Benga – I Will Never Change
Posted by Sev on March 20, 2012
One of the original dons of dubstep has released another one of his big tunes. There is only one problem, you can only get this on the UK iTunes. As much as I hate to tease you guys like this, I hope you have a friend in the UK who can help you out. If not I’m sure there are other ways to obtain this deep tune (*cough* internet *cough*). Nevertheless the track title says it all and Benga sticks with what got him to this point and that is respect worthy. If you want to see this bad man while he is touring in the US you can find the dates HERE.

You all know what this about, let’s get started. This first track is a VIP (Variation In Production) from Eliminate. I know his music for being filthy and ear shattering. This VIP of his does just that, with the need to change your pants afterwards.

It was only two weeks ago since we posted up a track from these up and comers in R Rated. Their VIP mixes are crazy, this one starts out in a slow fashion then they really take off with some filthy wobbles.

A few months ago, not a soul knew who Popeska was. If you are a dubstep fanatic, Popeska is now a household name for you. Dropping original works constantly in a quality fashion, Popeska does not disappoint…ever.

Sound Remedy has been dropping some amazing tracks as of recent, this remix was completely unexpected. I never could have imagined a dubstep remix of this Supremes classic, nor could I have imagined the cool wobbly drop following.

I had no idea who Street Lurkin was until I heard this freebie from Play Me. I was bumping out to it in my car yesterday with no clue what exactly I was listening to. The drop isn’t crazy or fast, but it is original and really cool sounding. I could listen to this track for hours.

Vaski making another sick remix since his Climax remix. Been a while since he has made consecutive dope drops like this, glad to see he brought it.

This has to be my favorite track on R Rated this week. Stereohype started making this remix as a joke and it became this serious beast that we have now. The vocal sound sick, and I love the stringed orchestra synth.

Dubstep | Kleerup & Lykke Li – Until We Bleed (PatrickReza Remix)
Posted by Mach on March 8, 2012
Unbelievable melodic dubstep remix from PatrickReza. Lykke Li is one of my absolute favorite vocalist to have remixed into dubstep, everything her voice is on turns to gold. ‘Until We Bleed’ is a great original and a favorite of mine, PatrickReza made is 10 times better. Maintaing the great vocals, he added a smooth bass-line to carry out the track into worlds not yet known to our ears. Once arrived into the bliss of bass, you hit that repeat button. This remix is one of many off of PatrickReza’s upcoming remix mixtape, ‘Mind The Step.’

Dubstep | Radio (Love Thy Brother Remix) – Lana Del Rey

Wow, second remix in a row from Love Thy Brother that I am in absolute love with. I was expecting to hear some jam packed remix of Lana Del Rey’s vocals, which is not the case. Slightly disappointed I continued to listen on only to be completely blown away by some of the sickest original dubstep work I have heard. I love the use of the trumpets on this remix, it really adds character to the Duo’s remix. My conclusion is that Love Thy Brother did not need to use Lana’s vocals at all, this remix is incredible just the way it is.

Alternative | Burial & Four Tet – Nova
Posted by W8 on March 6, 2012
I’m all ears when it comes to music. Sonically, there is nothing I wouldn’t consider worth my ears. I developed a passion for experimental music long ago, and watched it grow into the sensation it is today. When I caught the amount of attention this track was getting I had to take the opportunity to prove just that. Soundcloud wise, this record in one days time has more plays than Avicii’s hit Levels had managed to get in 4 months. If that doesn’t prove the rocketing of experimental music, what could.
Alternative, post-dubstep, experimental, however many labels you wish to name. There will always be artists that act as stubborn children in that their driven to produce what not only blurs the lines of genre but makes it absurd for you to even try and categorize in one. From the likes of Mount Kimbie, Jamie XX, Lapalux, Arthur Russell, Shlohmo and of course Burial and Four Tet, these are just a few of the many talents still left waiting for the masses to catch up with their past.
My public service announcement is as follows: Thanks goes out to the late great Steve Jobs for the creation of the iPod, making music no longer sonically racist in a time when you felt you had to fit into a particular genre like a pair of clothes and not dare dabble in any others. And thanks to the makers of Soundcloud for broadening our view of music into the sonic playground it is today. Records like Nova say more than words ever will, take a listen.
