News | Nicky Romero, Pretty Lights, Oliver Heldens, and More Added to EDMbiz 2015 Schedule

Just a few days after unveiling the initial programming for the 4th annual EDMbiz Conference & Expo, the Insomniac-hosted conference has finalized the full agenda and list of speakers slated to make the trek to the Cosmopolitan Hotel in Las Vegas on June 16th – 18th. In what promises to be their biggest and best conference yet, EDMbiz 2015 will welcome three new additions to the Fourth Annual Artist Panel, including Nicky Romero, Pretty Lights, and Oliver Heldens. In addition to a coveted spot on the artist panel, Heldens and his team will also be holding their own panel, Team Oliver Heldens, to discuss the Dutch youngster’s meteoric rise to superstardom. EDMbiz 2015 will also host a number of brand new panels including Boombox: A&R and How to Get Signed, Drugs in Dance Music: It’s Time to Talk, and What Is a DJ In 2015, amongst more additions. With such a widespread range of panel topics, this year’s conference will touch upon some of the most pressing issues in dance music. Alternative, Chill | Dream Koala – Saturn Boy

Dream Koala dropped this track today for free to show off what is to come on the new EP called “Earth. Home. Destroyed.” coming out on May 7th. According to Dream Koala, “the storyline paints a future where all the animals disappeared from Earth, where the oceans are devouring the continents and where the harmony of nature was broken by humans” on the new EP. “Saturn Boy” is chill and ambient with really interesting lyrics. Mellow and calming, this track is a great addition to any alternative collection.

Dubstep, Electro-House | Dream — This Isn’t House EP

After a years wait, FINALLY this track has been released. Big thanks to Skrillex for finally signing the track and forcing Dream to finish it up. I will say there is a little dissapointment in the lack of variation through the track and how he didn’t decide to change any of the the three drops. After keeping the fans waiting so long, Dream could have at least varied the drop style a little bit, but instead the track sound like it is looped three time, which came as a big disappointment. As far as the remixes go, Flinch has an amazing remix to the original almost putting it to shame. Flinch takes the original and creates almost a whole new track even with an addition of some unique vocals that aren’t featured in the original. I didn’t expect to see a Moombahton remix to this track, but of course LoBounce came through with a nice interpretation. Ironically Topher Jones was called up to do a house remix to this track. Nothing too exciting in my opinion and kind of bland. You can grab the EP on Beatport HERE.

Dubstep | Crizzly & Popeska

As expected we have some more freebies from artist feeling generous on this giving day. I will say, although I am not a huge fan of Crizzly’s crunkstep tracks, he smashed this remix. Dream’s original track was already a tune, but Crizzly buffed this track up a little more and added some bump to it. We have been posting most of Popeska’s stuff as he has released it, because this guy knows how to make tunes. This guy has a lot of potential to go somewhere with his music in the right hands, and I know Mach agrees with me. Being that it is Christmas lets also show some love to these guys and give them a like on their pages.
