Chill, Trap | Gladys Knight – Grapevine (Mr. Carmack Remix)

Posted by on September 16, 2013

Mr. Carmack

Mr. Aaron Carmack seems like a cool dude. I’m a big fan of his music styles and of the way that he (like Deadmau5) has a Soundcloud profile dedicated exclusively to posting his unreleased tracks. On his profile you will find a whole collection of unreleased gems spanning many genres, many of them defying definition. A lot of his songs have trap influences and nuances; this track being one of them. He builds a great chill vibe around the old Gladys Knight original vocals. It’s a soothing tune all the way through, but when the keys come in around the 2 minute mark, you just can’t help but sink back into your chair and relax. He is giving this one away as a free download, so grab it and toss it into the running for songs that start your day or finish your night.

Hip-Hop | #MASSACR Ft. SLiM PiCKENS, PEACE, AKIRA KATANI, A.C.E. (Prod. TONEDEFF CUTZ)

#MASSACR - SLiM PiCKENS - PEACE - AKIRA KATANI - ACE Prod. By TONEDEFF CUTZMASSACR is a collective of Hip-Hop artists whose goal is developing Hip-Hop culture, “a think tank to express ideas for music collaborations, promotion of social awareness and community building, entrepreneurship, education, being the definition of Hip Hop”, as it was put simply by the group. This group titled opening track is some real soulful Hip-Hop, kicking back to the old days when the story was much more important than the beat. Yet, the beat still carries you enough to never make you want to stop bumping.

Progressive House | Steerner – Waves (Radio Edit)

It is not often that I am taken near or to the edge of climax just from a song, but I was sure close after listening to this. Steerner is a producer that doesn’t release tracks all too often but when he does they are something to look out for. “Waves” is his latest original and I think his best. Even though it has no vocals, it is incredibly catchy. Without getting too cliché, this is the definition of a summertime house track.

Progressive House | Kaskade & Deadmau5 vs. Swanky Tunes & Matisse & Sadko – Move For Me The Legend (Kaskade Mash Up)

Posted by on December 18, 2012

In this latest installment of Kaskade Mash-Up Mondays (yes, it’s Tuesday…who’s counting), the man/myth/legend that is Ryan Raddon brings you the literal definition of an auto-download. “Move For Me” is one of the most recognizable and well-loved tracks in recent EDM memory. “The Legend” is progressive house at its riveting, melodic best. What happens when you merge the two? Nothing short of amazing. Props to Kaskade for continually identifying some of the most compelling track combinations out there. Mashups | Bar-Kays – Too Hot To Stop (D.veloped Remix)

Posted by on November 19, 2012

Track of the week right here! I have to agree that this is just Too Hot To Stop. This track offers vocals from Swizz Beats, Young Gunz, Beastie Boys, Chingy, 50 Cent, and Memphis Bleek, a lot of randoms considered for a little bit of funky vibes. Probably the most fun I have had in months just listening to a song. D.veloped just completely evolved the definition of Funk.

Dubstep, Electro-House, Moombahton, Review | Knife Party – Rage Valley EP

Posted by on May 27, 2012

Knife Party’s long anticipated ‘Rage Valley’ EP has finally released, despite the leak a few days back. For those of you that havent the chance to listen to ‘Rage Valley’ in its entirety, it is about time you do so. Kicking off this sick EP is the title track ‘Rage Valley.’ Dirty Electro-House, this track is rage, the initial build up to the drop is immense. Building similar to ‘Internet Friends,’ but without the slightly annoying iPhone ringer and dropping like a Unicorn on Bear steroids. The next track is my favorite for sure, ‘Centipede’ has been played in Knife Party’s live sets for over a year now. It is exactly what dubstep fans love to hear. I love how the intro mentions how the Centipede is basically better than the Tarantula, for those of you that don’t know Knife Party’s other allias, Pendulum, has a track named ‘Tarantula.’ The track is filthy, portrating the power and deadliness that a Centipede has. ‘Bonfire’ I fell in love with instantly, Sev and I have been all over the Reggae vibed Dubstep tracks recently. Even if it is just the vocals, this track hit a sweet spot for us. The last track ‘Sleaze’ I did not know much about before listening. Knife Party couldn’t have ended this epic EP in a better way, ‘Sleaze’ is one of the few Moombahton tracks that I listen to and it wreaks house. This track is the definition of an all night rager, in a live setting I’m sure all of these track destroy the dance floor. The ‘Rage Valley’ EP is what its name says, a rager waiting to happen.

Chill, Dubstep, Exclusive | Joey Pecoraro – Sign Me

Posted by on May 8, 2012

As of right now, we all have to reavaluate our current definition of “chill”. All thanks to Joey Pecoraro, a 17 year old beatmaker from Michigan. To say I had this record on repeat for the better part of all day yesterday would be an understatement, never was there even a lingering thought to turn this off. Although one thing did come to mind – it deserved a lengthening. I asked if Joey would do that, and thankfully he did. Sign Me is expelled from time in somewhat of a colorful hypnosis, so whether you are smoking something potent or simply doing whatever it is that you do, Sign Me is that track.
