Hip-Hop | P-Holla Ft. Ryan Notes – Ode to Dreamers
Posted by GMONEY on October 18, 2011
This latest track from P-Holla, Ode to Dreamers, is a dedicated to anyone who takes risks to pursue their dreams. The song was actually inspired by Ryan Notes’ real life story of quitting his job, selling his car and moving to New York to pursue his musical career. P-Holla has been friends with Notes for a couple of years now and plans to work with him more in the future. Based on their first collaboration, I am definitely pumped to hear more from these two.

Albums, House, Videos | Kaskade Album Preview
Posted by Middy on October 5, 2011
Kaskade is coming out with his new album, “Fire and Ice” on October 25th on iTunes and November 8th everywhere else and from one Ryan to another I can’t wait. As Kaskade says, “This album represents the last 10 years of my career, all the miles traveled, the shows that I’ve played, the people that I’ve met, and the memories I’ve made”, so expect something absolutely amazing. “Eyes” and “Turn It Down” are absolutely incredible and show the growth of Kaskade from the beginning of his career when he was making deep house to more melodic, euphoric big room house that destroys clubs and festivals all over the world. He has evolved as an artist and grown increasingly popular especially after Identity Festival this summer, being deservingly voted the number one DJ in America, extensive touring over the past few years and his recent artist albums. Get ready for “Fire and Ice” because it will be one of the biggest albums in EDM this year. Below are “Eyes”, “Turn It Down” and his Essential Mix to get your ears ready for the 25th.

Electro-House | Eric Prydz – “Call On Me” (Skrubz Remix)
Posted by Mach on September 29, 2011
Skrubz has turned out to be a very well rounded producer. Starting off his little career with some dubstep and drum and bass, he has branched out over the summer, releasing house, electro, and now dutch tracks. “Call On Me” is one of the most legendary tracks in electronic music, but no one has seemed to think, ‘Oh hey! I should make a remix of this.’ Skrubz would not have been my first choice to do so, but after listening to this remix, he did an amazing job.

Mixtapes | Jazz Cartier – Losing Elizabeth (Mixtape)

“An album about a chick, that may seem stupid, but comprehend I am smarter than an AP student”- Jazz Cartier (Garden of Goliath)
Jazz Cartier aka JC aka Jaguar Jazzy aka The Black Zack Morris aka The Rap Pete Sampras aka The Black George Costanza aka The Rap Panda aka Jazz Kennedy…the list goes on. The road leading up to this release has been almost as long as his list of nicknames. Fortunately, the wait is over and we have a very impressive project from young Jazz. I’m not sure what they put in the water up in Toronto, but Jazz and Drake both know how to make that ever-so-deep relationship music. At only 18, it’s safe to say this prep school pimp protege has had his hand in more relationships than you and I both.
One reason why I’m so impressed with this project is because every song adhere’s to one overall concept. Many mixtapes & even albums today, especially early on in an artists career, consist of several unrelated songs thrown together under one umbrella. Aside from Jazz’s ability to consciously rap about girls, relationship, life, & other significant concepts, he has a rare ability to deliver a work of art. His distinct voice, humorous metaphors, & varying styles are what bring me closer to Jazz’s music. I’ve been supporting Jazz since day one and although it’s been a long road to this point, he’s continually growing and soon will be able to put music at the forefront. I’m excited to see what the future holds for Jazz and hope his next project another step up from this one.

Mashups | 3Lau – Dance Floor Filth
Posted by GMONEY on September 12, 2011
3Lau just dropped his debut project Dance Floor Filth. I will let the man speak for himself:
Dance Floor Filth will mark the 1ST of 3 Stages of my career as an artist. Blending two of my favorite genres, I’ve made that filth, you know, the kind that makes you wanna tear down the walls. The next 2 stages will involve much more original production, and the addition of my own vocals

Hip-Hop, RnB | T-Pain ft. Wiz Khalifa & Lily Allen – 5 O’clock
Posted by Grubeats on September 9, 2011
How bout another new cut from T-Pain; destination unknown. Receiving assistance from Lily Allen on the hook and a nice verse from Wiz which surprisingly differs from his standard weed n’ party raps, may give this song enough nut to revive his career. No confirmation whether or not this track will be featured on the Nappy Boy’s forthcoming studio album, rEVOLVEr, which is beginning to be placed in company with R.E.D. and Detox for most delayed projects. Ok, that may be an exaggeration, but we’re coming up on 3 years of delays and auto-tune isn’t as cool as it used to be. I’m not sure this song has radio potential quite yet, but if T-Pain doesn’t make a move soon, I see him falling off fast with his buddy Lil Wayne.
Hip-Hop | Childish Gambino & AD – Who Dat (Pt. 2)
Posted by GMONEY on September 6, 2011
It’s been way too long since we’ve heard anything from Childish Gambino. It seems like he just fell off the map out of no where for these last few months, but hey, when you’re doing TV sitcoms I’m sure there is very little time left over for a side rap career. Anyway hes back with a few bars over J. Cole’s Who Dat. Before we get to Childish ,this SD guy mans the first verse and everything from the recording to the lyrics sounds amateur. I suggest you skip to the 2:06 mark where Childish absolutely KILLS it.
