Get your pencils and notebooks ready to take some notes, because Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike’s most recent collaboration with Ummet Ozcan is giving us a lesson in partying. Kicking off their careers in the early 2000’s, the duo’s infallible efforts have paid off with acclaimed awards from Beatport, IDMA, and even the #2 spot on DJ Mag’s Top 100 Poll in 2015, but fellow collaborator, Ummet Ozcan’s list of achievements do not pale in comparison. The Turkish producer has racked up millions of plays on YouTube and is still feeling the success from his collab with R3hab and Nervo, “Revolution,” that premiered at #1 on Beatport. The music video for “The Hum” breaks any expectations you had for the party anthem, as it peers into a massive pool party, with craziness everywhere you look. Live animals, midgets, champagne showers, pillow fights, and epic party attendees, including martial arts master, Jean Claude Van Damme, and TV star, Charlie Sheen all make a cameo in the insane music video, which you can watch below. Trap | HEDEGAARD – Still Animals (Mashup/Remix)

She’s baaaaaack…. another guest post from our Scandinavian sweetheart, Rebecca.

Just as we all started to feel that ”Animals” should be deleted (or at least reduced to one play per night) from the playlists in mainstream night clubs, Martin Garrix dropped his latest track, ”Wizard”. Yes, we all loved ”Animals;” I personally discovered it with great ecstacy, but creating a drop that sounds like the ”Animals” drop played backwards and adding a slightly different melody to it, doesn’t make a new world hit.

Sticking to a personal sound is a good thing, don’t get me wrong. Garrix did more than well with the ”Project T” remix. He sealed it with the big G without spelling out the whole name. But Wizard just feels like the easiest way out, using already proven tricks. If it wasn’t for him to be such a damn cute Dutch prodigy (Is it possible for a 20 year old to adopt a 17 year old? Anyone?) I would be much more disappointed. He has already shown that he has what it takes, so I’ll just look past this little ”Wizard” mishap.

If you for some reason still can’t get enough of ”Animals”, but feel like you need to move on (I mean it’s been 4 months since the official release. It’s been ”Animals” everyday. Everywhere. For 4 months), I suggest the Rasmus Hedegaard remix/mashup ”Still Animals”. This trap producing Dane knows his mixes (Had to make a little room for my Scandinavian neighbors in my post, it’s just a tiny bridge between my home town and Denmark – fun facts). Daring enough to take on the world’s most loved tracks, he played matchmaker between Garrix and Dr. Dre, and I believe they make a beautiful couple. Listen below and see what I mean.

Collin McLoughlin
Collin McLoughlin has been on a roll as of late. His “Starlight” remix was shouted out by Don Diablo. His “Escape” remix was shouted out by 3LAU. His “Body Work” remix was shouted out by Morgan Page. I could go on. Today, he drops a new remix on the world because 1,500 pound Tuna. Collin McLoughin is blowing up, there’s no stopping him now.

After seeing this particular tweet earlier this week, it’s safe to say I am one confused kitten…

It didn’t take much time to come to terms with the fact that Cashmere Cat’s sound is so distinct that there was no way he couldn’t be the man behind Trippy Turtle. Which then lead me to question the true identity of the similar sounding producers Booty Beaver and D-D-DJ Yolo Bear, as well. The signature mattress squeaks and tambourines, the Drake references and remixes, the alliterated names, the “FoFo FaDis” for crying out loud. It suddenly all made sense…

And you know, while I’m still not entirely sure BenZel’s revealing tweet has been verified, nor this theory of my own, I’m not too worried about it anymore anyways because the Norwegian producer, Magnus August Høiberg (under whichever alias he prefers) (or whoever any of these musically-inclined critters actually are) has dropped some faaaantastic tracks this week. And that’s what we’re all here for anyways, right? I’ve bundled them all up for you here below in alphabetical order for your listening pleasure. And in the mean time, I’ll be brainstorming the perfectly catchy anthropomorphic nickname for my alter-egos. Hit me up if you come up with any good ones, your submissions are much appreciated.

Just this morning, Dr. Luke released a snippet of Ke$ha’s upcoming “Super” single that will undoubtedly have the animals back on the prowl. If only she would just take a shower for once though…
