Trance | ilan Bluestone – Spheres

ilan Bluestone - Spheres
ilan Bluestone started 2013 with “Sinai“, and this year he kicks things off with another bomb, the aptly named “Spheres”. It has the vintage ilan Bluestone sound that brings together a hard, driving bass line with well-crafted, soothing melodies that are perfect for Anjunabeats. Mr Bluestone had a breakout 2013, living up to the billing of just about every blog’s artist to watch last year, lets see what he can do in 2014 and “Spheres” is a great way to start.

Top 50 dance tracks of 2013

Yes we know, you may be “top _____ of 2013” listed out, but bear with us as we present you our top 50 dance tracks of 2013. In the past we have done just big room / progressive, but here we attempt to take on the whole genre, from trap to progressive to deep house. A few ground rules and biases for how these tracks were selected. “Top” means biggest and best. So the most supported and played out tracks, first and foremost, but also our own bias as well to make this list not just a carbon copy of every other one you have read. All of us are based in the US / Canada, so our perception of what is played live is a largely US worldview, though we try and take a step back. The songs have to have been released in 2013. So tracks like “Easy”, “I Could Be The One”, “Alive”, “Clarity” and “Harlem Shake”, while all huge in 2013, won’t qualify for the list because they were released in 2012. Tough luck, but I think the artists will manage. Check out 50-41 after the jump and at the end find links for 40-31, 30-21, 20-11 and the best of the best, 10-1.

It’s funky Friday, and if this isn’t a show of force by veterans Duane Harden, Powerhouse and Bob Sinclar, and New York City’s own Jay Dahbi to bring that original house sound back to the forefront, you never knew dance music. “What You Need” is off Duane Harden’s much anticipated album #NB4U which was originally supposed to be released in 2013, though was pushed back to January 20th because Bob Sinclar wanted to hop on a remix for his good friend for the good of us all. If you knew me, you’d know how much I value Bob Sinclar and what he’s brought to dance music, mixing different genres with house music before anyone else, so get familiar! This is a must listen!

[do action=”youtube” videoid=”EnbemIr9FOI”/]

By now rapping up the previous year and starting the new is more or less routine for Calvin and Robert.  They have been busy without a doubt, capping off 2013 with a remix to the throwback 90’s classic, “Save Tonight”.  Skillz may have the rap game “Rap Up” on lock, but Timeflies is holding the belt for the pop counterpart.  A few days after dropping this video, they opened the flood gates and released the highly requested downloads for all of their 2013 Tuesday installments.  Cop those all below and make sure to thank the dudes on Twitter.

Lastly, we have this week’s visual, which is an acoustic cover of their own fan favorite smash, “Ride”.

Lastly x2, new single “All The Way” coming 1.20.14.

Free downloads and the Ride acoustic after the jump!

YOU ALREADY KNOW WHAT IT IS.

All the music that I listened to throughout the last 12 months enough to make me sick but somehow didn’t. The fields of music brought a bountiful yield in 2013 which allowed listeners like me to tune into more genres and artists than I could ever imagine. In order to cover all my necessary bases, I’ve drafted quite a comprehensive list (or two) missing prety much only anything Jennifer Lawrence related although if all the things she said this year were songs then they would 100% have made it on my list as well.

So, let the countdown, BEGIN!

DJ-Set | Kap Slap – SnowGlobe 2013 Set

Posted by on January 8, 2014

Kap-Slap-Snow-Globe

SnowGlobe was one for the books, there is no doubt about that. As expected, Tiesto crushed the first night, Kaskade did his thing the second, and Cut Copy brought in the New Year with a vibrant live set. What was unexpected was what happened when Kap Slap took the stage.  His set was on the second stage, earlier in the night (5:15 PM), and was competing with the legendary hip hop group Zion I on the main stage.  Regardless of the circumstances, come 5:45 PM, the Sierra tent was at capacity with every festival goer dancing their hearts out. Kap Slap kept the entire tent jumping, dancing, & singing for an entire hour and fifteen minutes. The highlight of his set was when he debuted his first original production which left the crowd with their hands in the air and ears asking for more. The transitions were flawless, his stage energy was unmatched, and he closed out his performance with one of his signature stage dives. Relive SnowGlobe 2013 with this heart racing heavy hitting hour and fifteen mix.
