Pop, Tour, Videos | Timeflies Tuesday – Don’t Stop Believing

Posted by on November 6, 2014

It’s not a party unless you sing along to a little Journey.  With that being said, sometimes Journey doesn’t tickle your dancing fancy and you just want to turn up.  Fortunately for you, Timeflies have done the work for you and amped up Journey’s classic, “Don’t Stop Believin'” and mashed it with some free bars.

Speaking of turning up, have you copped your tickets to see Cal and Rez live on tour this fall?

Abstract Hip-Hop, Chill, Electro, Videos | Hozyboy – Woods

Posted by on October 20, 2014

Too be honest, this dude came out of nowhere. One minute I was aimlessly looking at nothing on the internet and the next I was the most stoked I’ve been in a while to say the least. At first it was just the music video, displayed above, that turnt me up. On my Reddit feed it read “VISUAL MINDBLOWING VIDEO & MUSIC”, “Wait for the watermelon to explode after the asian man plays the flute”, and “Cartoons, nature, and asian man, and a watermelon. Honey for your eyes” so I was intrigued – which he definitely wasn’t lying once I got to actually watching the music video. F****** brilliant. I was then so stoked off the music video that I found a SoundCloud link and clicked it instantly. Not only is “Woods” a vibing, feel good beat, his other compositions are crazy impressive as well. Hozy is 100% worth the look with other dope songs like “You Just Got Abducted by Some Turnt Up Aliens” and “Retro Heartbreak“; It’ll be exciting to see what this aspiring artist will come up with next.

Girl Fire, Pop, Videos | Melanie Martinez — Carousel [Music Video]

Posted by on October 15, 2014

After ending her run on The Voice in the show’s third season, semi-finalist and now 19-year-old singer/songwriter Melanie Martinez said that her primary objective was to express who she was and touch people’s hearts. Just a year later, she’s set to reach many more; her Dollhouse EP from earlier this year was critically-acclaimed, its lead single garnered over eight million views, and now her second single, “Carousel”, has both been listed as one of Spotify’s most viral tracks and was recently featured in the promos for American Horror Story: Freak Show. As of this afternoon, “Carousel” has gotten a visual treatment as well, and for an artist who cares as deeply about her aesthetic and brand as Melanie does, you know this is a must watch. The song was written and produced with the help of the NYC-based duo Kinetics & One Love—who have been her closest collaborators while recording her new album—and features the same kind of stirring, hip-hop-inspired production and breathy, commanding vocals that we’ve come to expect from Melanie of late. Do yourself a favor and check this video out now, and keep yourself updated with the links below.

House, Videos | FNT Premiere: Johnson Orchid – I’ll Be There (Deepmilo remix) [Video]

Posted by on October 11, 2014

UK singer / songwriter / dancer Johnson Orchid has some serious talent. His latest tune “I’ll Be There” is just the latest example of what he brings to the music world. A well crafted song, “I’ll Be There” is now aided by a deep and bass oriented remix from Deepmilo. The video takes us through some desert far far away or probably out in the American West as Johnson Orchid dances on and near all sorts of random objects like a boat with his smoakey the bear hat on though. He does have some very smooth moves though, including the Kevin Hart.

Videos | Monstercat 3 Year Anniversary Video From Didrick

Posted by on September 17, 2014

monstercat-3-yearWow, it seemed like yesterday that Monstercat was started by its founder Mike Darlington and now three years in, things are bigger and better than anyone could have imagined. The label is not just a platform for artists to release their music on, but a marketing tool to connect with thousands of eager fans worldwide. To celebrate three years, Monstercat got Swedish producer, Didrick, who you may first remember for his remix of “I Can Be The One”, to mix and mash 78 tunes from the monstercat library into one wild 3-minute piece. The visuals to go along with it are the icing on the cake as you see Didrick working a launchpad and keyboard at the same time, while a drummer, guitarist and full backing band help provide the soundtrack to an outstanding three years of Monstercat. Cheers to you guys and to many more to come. You can grab the mashup and a compilation of Monstercat’s favorite tunes on iTunes here.
