It’s always gratifying finding a diamond in the ruff after searching aimlessly through Twitter, Facebook, and emails for hours, in search of music that is completely new to my ears. Josh Osho is the diamond. A 20-year old London born singer/songwriter plotting the release of his debut EP due out May 14th. Breaking out with his first single featuring Mr. Glover as Childish Gambino, Osho’s bold vocals meet the hard bars of Bino for a perfect balance of pop, alternative, and hip-hop. Facebook || Twitter
Hip-Hop, Pop, Videos | Mike Stud – Boyfriend (Remix) [Music Video]
Posted by LoffyG on April 1, 2012
When I spoke with Mike Stud in the beginning of March he gave me the heads up that he would be dropping a new single every couple of weeks, and he wasn’t lying. Not only is he dropping singles, he’s continually raising the bar with each release. If you didn’t notice, on Mike’s last release “Is It Worth It” he tried his hand at singing and I’ve got to admit it was pretty good. Then I heard this song and he totally blew me away with it. He remixed Justin Bieber’s hit song “Boyfriend” and I’d say this is some of his best work and definitely a stepping stone in his career. Be on the lookout for this guy because a little bird told me he’s got some crazy industry moves on deck!
Hip-Hop, Pop | Hoodie Allen – No Interruption [Video]

There comes a time and place for every successful artist to break into the iTunes market. 100k FB fans, 45k Twitter followers, three mixtapes, and one free EP later, the very deserving Hoodie Allen releases the first single off his upcoming EP, All American, due out April 10th with an official iTunes release.
“So this is something completely new for me. I’ve built most of my following online based around 2 ideas –1. free mixtapes and 2. creative use of sampling. With this new project, I’ve worked really hard to expand upon the sound that my fans love while actually creating all the songs from scratch.” – Hoodie Allen
After listening to this new single and watching the video, it’s evident that Hoodie’s “No Interruption” promise runs deeper than his relationships. Locking himself in the studio, this completely original track features production from RJF and WNDRBRD, the whitty rhymes we’re used to, and one heck of a hook. It sounds like someone has been taking vocal lessons… #AllAmerican

Below is another mix Brenton Duvall released earlier this week of Hoodie’s “Moon Bounce” off Leap Year. Take this one for free after you buy “No Interruptions”.

Indie, Pop | KO KO – Float
Posted by W8 on March 28, 2012
My goodness, Float is the essence of refreshment. KO KO is a band based out of Los Angeles that is comprised of brothers Ryan and Taylor Lawhorn, they define their sound as having never experienced winter, accurately said given this cheery melody that practically inhales and exhales beautiful weather. They started this project in January 2012 and it’s clear, they are here to remain in the ears of many. The imagery of their sound is a cool and breezy daydream that encapsulates summer vibes all the way through. A breath of fresh air with an ocean in your backyard.

Pop, Videos | Timeflies Tuesday: Wild Ones
Posted by LoffyG on March 27, 2012
Timeflies hits us with another one of their signature Timeflies Tuesday installments. This time Cal covers Flo Rida’s hit song “Wild Ones” featuring Sia. Rez completely transformed this one from a heavy “club banger” to a smooth “baby maker”. We recently covered a Timeflies show at Palladium in Dallas, TX. If you haven’t seen that article you can check it out here!
P.S. If FNT has another shot at interviewing Timeflies, what would the fans like to see & what questions do you have for them? You can catch the previous one after the jump!

Girl Fire, Pop | JUSTIN BIEBER – BOYFRIEND
Posted by A on March 26, 2012
To the dismay of many, Canadian sensation Justin Beiber is back to drop his official “Boyfriend” single ahead of it’s Monday morning release schedule. Beliebers will eat this up, as he delivers another hit with a catchy hook and sub-par ying-yang twin like raps that will likely find it’s way to radio by Tuesday. Written by Mat Musto, Mason Levy, and Mike Posner, the song gives us a glimpse of a new “mature” Beiber that seems to be borrowing heavily from Justin Timberlake’s playbook. At least now that the Beibs is legal, he can buy “Plan B” from his local CVS like all boyfriends inevitably have to do. I <3 U JUSTIN!
Indie, Pop, Videos | We Stole The Kids – All In My Head [Video]

This is me getting my feet wet in some new indie/hip-pop. We Stole The Kids is comprised of 6 musicians from New York, who are currently residing in New York and New England. This single, “All In My Head”, is the first off their debut FreEP album, entitled, Late Night Episode, which will likely be released in early April. I was intrigued by the unique sound they are bringing to the table, cohesively bonding indie rock with pop, hip-hop, and even electro. With a minuscule budget, the group was still able to put together an impressive video on the beach in Long Island during a freezing cold summer day/night.
