House, Pop | Calvin Harris Feat. Ne-Yo – Lets Go (Incl. Calvin Harris Remix)

Posted by on April 27, 2012

Calvin Harris is rising to the level of global superstar as a Dj / producer / writer / singer, and is incredibly talented at all of these. This whole package has not available until a day or two ago and for some reason this track has not really caught on for commercial success. Just give it some time. The original / radio mix is his next “We Found Love” with simple verses and a catchy hook and an upbeat, poppy instrumental. The Calvin Harris remix is for the people who want more Calvin Harris and less Ne-Yo as Calvin Harris elongates the song and adds more of an EDM flare to it.

Electronic, Pop | Silver Medallion – Penthouse Dropouts, Barstool Kings

Posted by on April 24, 2012

While on the road touring with Hyper Crush and DJ Benzi, Silver Medallion decided to release this latest gem entitled “Penthouse Dropouts, Bartools Kings”. The song takes one of his favorite songs of the moment, Rebecca & Fiona’s “Dance”, and chopped it up to make “a tribute to the trust fund girls giving up their parents approval to drink with us heathens in the streets of the Lower East Side” after yearning for the familiarity of New York City life while on tour. Girl Fire, Pop | Dev-99 Red Balloons

Posted by on April 23, 2012

Shut up Dev! Just shut up! I’m dying. Dead. I need a good driving around sunny day song and this girl just remade 99 Red Balloons to be the perfect fit. It’s eurotrashy and pop mixed together. Girl-Fire Sold.

Dubstep, Pop | Quincy Kwalae – Boyfriend (Remix)

Posted by on April 19, 2012

For all you Bieber junkies swaying your head back and forth alone in your bedroom to “Boyfriend”, hearing an echo within whisper “swag, swag, swag”, here is a refurnished version brought to you by the very versatile singer/rapper/producer Quincy Kwalae. Switching up the hook to sing “I won’t tell your boyfriend” rather than Bieber’s “if I was your boyfriend” Quincy adds his own verses and intricate production.

A fan of Mike Posner’s production on this track as well as other credited works in the past, Quincy adds his own dub sounds to the beat, creating a very catchy tune that may be more tasteful than Bieb’s version to the FNT Faithful. Hopefully this holds you over until Kwalae’s EP drops in due time.

Pop, Videos | Peachcake – You Matter (Music Video)

Posted by on April 18, 2012

This video was released back in February but I only recently stumbled upon it. Disregarding the goofy hats that the guys in Peachcake are wearing, the song is incredibly catchy. After only one listen, I had the chorus stuck in my head. The song has the makings of a hit that is just waiting to be discovered, so give it a listen and pick it up on iTunes if you like it.

Pop, Videos | Silver Medallion – Starships (Nicki Minaj Cover) [Music Video]

Posted by on April 16, 2012

Yes, you read that right, Silver Medallion just covered Nicki Minaj’s single “Starships” and the result is 100x better than the original. With production from the acclaimed Chi Duly, Silver Medallion turns the song into his own. Silver Medallion’s vocals give the track a more raw vibe that easily differentiates itself from the poppiness of Nicki Minaj’s original. Even so, this song is the perfect song for those upcoming pool parties this summer. Watch the video above and don’t forget to become a fan of Silver Medallion on Facebook here as well.
