Pop | Vera Flash – Masochistic

NYC artist Vera Flash just released a video for her single “Masochistic” off her 4 track EP “I Am A Museum,” and I am impressed. Vera linked up with Brooklyn producer Rusty Mack to put together a dark and poppy sound, comparable to the likes of Santigold, Lady Gaga, and M.I.A. The Colin Palmer directed video is a work of art, and we can always expect something different from Vera when it comes to visuals, you should see her video “Hustle.” This is overall a strong project, and a good teaser for the sound that we can anticipate in the future from Miss Flash. I look forward to hearing more from Vera and her team! Shout out to Rusty Mack and Red Walrus!

Silver Medallion and Dave Edwards decided to revisit an older original track of theirs, and revamped it with new production and new lyrics to bring us “American Girl 2.0.” Silver Medallion is that dude that will undoubtedly have a hit record at least once through out his music career. It’s only a matter of time for him and his team to branch out to radio, and the mainstream. I’ve always been a fan of his edgy production choices, his vocal melodies, and lyrical word play, and “American Girl 2.0” lives up to that. Get that free download, and enjoy! Ever since this track was previewed 20 days ago, I have been eagerly awaiting its release. So much so, that I scoured soundcloud for any other remix of this song to see if there were any that could satisfy me until I could finally download Tjernberg’s remix. The answer to that is there was, and I have also included those after the break if you want to see for yourself which one you like best. Kim Cesarion is an amazing singer from the land of Sweden, which explains why you nor I had heard of him before and why pretty much everyone who remixed this is also Swedish. Tjernberg provided the perfect instrumental to compliment the superb vocals and even though it is pretty much a pop song, I still find it very enjoyable. Pop | Matt Cardle, Melanie C – Loving You

I’m going to make a few girls happy with this one, and dudes for that matter. Melanie C and Matt Cardle have teamed up to drop this awesome pop record “Loving You” that I think is going to be a big hit this fall. I’m personally hooked. You might remember Melanie C as Sporty Spice from the Spice Girls, and she looks and sounds amazing. Matt Cardle, the winner of X Factor UK is a lucky man sharing spit with the gorgeous Mel C. You also have to hear the man sing, he has a hell of a voice! I look forward to seeing this track migrating towards the US! This is a must a listen!
House, Pop | Killy Cakes – Magic

I’ve been a sucker for that nu-disco meets house sound lately, and today’s find of the day falls on the up and coming Russian synth-pop group, Killy Cakes, with their release of “Magic.” I love the guitar, the synths, and the 80’s sound this record has; nothing but great vibes. If you haven’t noticed yet, I’m all about these feel good tunes that keep you motivated, and just throwing it out there, this tune would make a great sample for a hip hop beat… Who would’ve thought great music could’ve came from Russia! Wish I had a download link for you guys!

Today’s find of the day comes from the Australian duo Antonio//Paul with this alternative pop gem “Coloured Screens.” The boys recently announced that this record was the closest song they could create to sound like a cartoon TV show, layered with mega pop melodies. I’m a sucker for these kinds of tunes, the kind that take you away, and I’m glad I found it. This track is light and sweet, perfect for your Sunday. I’ll start off by saying the song Timeflies teases us with in this tour announcement video sounds like crack on crack on crack. Recently sharing the news that they will be back on the road (yes, already), Timeflies will be joined by Chiddy Bang along with ________(undisclosed special guests) on a nationwide tour kicking off on Octover 9th in Boston. With the tour announcement also came the expected announcement that Timeflies sophomore LP, Warning Sings, is also en route for a fall delivery. Swoon ladies (and gents), swoon.
