OWSLA decided to give the fans another free treat. This track is off of The M Mahcines debut LP, ‘Metropolis Pt. 1.’ Faces is an Indie/Electronic track, which to some including myself before listening, would find that to be unappealing. The melody of this track is wonderful, it really pairs with the vocals very well. This track is simple, but a jam for many no doubt. ‘Metropolis’ is set to drop April 24th.

Summer is the time to let go and splash your mind full of new and refreshing memories. All you have to worry about is making the best ones possible. That’s not too hard, all we know how to do at the end of the day is have a good time, and summer is just one long weekend set on achieving that. Indie music in summer is like a gorgeous woman on the beach with her over-sized sunglasses, and sand filled flip flops acting as if her bikini isn’t the equivalent of seductive lingerie, it just doesn’t get any better. Spending all day in your bathing suit, and all night looking for it. That is what indie exemplifies for me. So whether you are listening to waves crash up on the beach, having a bonfire with friends, or just soaking up the sun … always remember, that when time disappears and there’s no place you’d rather be … that is when memories are made. I’m simply here to lay out the soundtrack to that experience.
What’s best about indie is that it disqualifies overly drunk idiots from the party. So turn the music up and keep the drama down. My favorite indie compilation thus far. If you need more then be sure to check the previous playlists if you haven’t already done so. I’m good for all these tracks so you need not pass on any.

Just days after the Beibz dropped his SUPA HOT single, the gorgeous Missy Modell decides to give it the cover treatment. It was interesting to see somebody other than a teenage boy saying “swag” forty times in a matter of 4 minutes. Missy puts her own twist on it, and it sounds gorgeous….and she looks gorgeous. My goodness, Float is the essence of refreshment. KO KO is a band based out of Los Angeles that is comprised of brothers Ryan and Taylor Lawhorn, they define their sound as having never experienced winter, accurately said given this cheery melody that practically inhales and exhales beautiful weather. They started this project in January 2012 and it’s clear, they are here to remain in the ears of many. The imagery of their sound is a cool and breezy daydream that encapsulates summer vibes all the way through. A breath of fresh air with an ocean in your backyard.

Young The Giant covers “Ignition (Remix)”
Yes, they’re wearing fur. Yes they’re covering an R. Kelly song. And yes I have no shame for posting this. California based band Young The Giant decided to cover the R. Kelly classic for a competion they’re doing. They even rented fur coats to fully capture the persona of R.Kelly. It’s the freaking weekend everybody better have some fun, and try and not get peed on.

Gorgeous girls and great music, can it get any better? I’ll answer that one for you, no, it can’t. Connor Zwetsch is native of my hometown, the beautiful Tampa Florida, studied at Florida State University, and is soon moving to Los Angeles to pursue her musical endeavors.. Connor has the ability to make tracks entirely her own, as seen in this video. She takes an originally electric song, and makes into into a beautiful guitar-vocal piece. She has an incredible voice, and the ability to control it, and make it look easy. Check her out on facebook and twitter

This is me getting my feet wet in some new indie/hip-pop. We Stole The Kids is comprised of 6 musicians from New York, who are currently residing in New York and New England. This single, “All In My Head”, is the first off their debut FreEP album, entitled, Late Night Episode, which will likely be released in early April. I was intrigued by the unique sound they are bringing to the table, cohesively bonding indie rock with pop, hip-hop, and even electro. With a minuscule budget, the group was still able to put together an impressive video on the beach in Long Island during a freezing cold summer day/night.
