Chill, Compilation, Cover, Indie, Reggae | Cris Cab – Live…In the Moment (Free Album)
Posted by J_Salzer on August 26, 2012
I’ve been a fan of Cris Cab ever since I first saw his covers over a year ago. It’s crazy to see how far he’s come. He’s one of the most talented singers right now, in a genre that is largely over saturated, Cris finds a way to stand out and be unique. Today, he gives us a free album full of high quality live versions of his set from a show down in Miami. Wyclef Jean makes an appearance(and drops an insane freestyle) on “No Woman No Cry,” although I’m not sure who sounds more Jamaican…Cris does a damn good Bob Marley. Throughout this entire compilation, you can feel the passion and hear how Cris effortlessly works the crowd. A true artist can record AND perform. Cris Cab is a true artist.

Alternative, Indie, Videos | Connor Zwetsch – The Little Things (Video)
Posted by J_Salzer on August 25, 2012
FNT’s own Connor Zwetsch hits us with her newest video offering. I have a little bias when I say this, because Connor is from my hometown, and is a close friend, but I think she has one of the best, most unique voices out right now. Her covers are insane, while her original stuff always has hard hitting lyrics, and smooth instrumentals played by Connor herself. She has a single releasing soon, with an EP to follow. Make sure you like her facebook page below to stay updated, but if you’re too lazy to do that, have no fear, FNT will always get you the scoop.

27 million years ago penguins were five feet tall. Let’s keep that in mind as we make our way into the fourth installation of indie pack, previously known as indie thursday. Sometimes you just have to let the songs do the talking. They go well with sun, weekends, and friends.
Indie, Pop, Preview, Videos | Connor Zwetsch – All of My Crazy (Video)
Posted by J_Salzer on August 5, 2012
Ah, beautiful girls and beautiful music, can it get any better? I’m sure most of you are shaking your heads while you read this so I’ll just pretend I can see you and get on with my post. Even though this video/track is about a month old, it was scarcely seen on the blogosphere due to unknown reasons, so let FNT be the ones to introduce you to singer/songwriter Connor Zwetsch. Connor hails from my hometown, Tampa, and has recently moved out to LA to pursue her singing endeavors. Admittedly, the video quality here isn’t what we’re used to seeing, but the music makes up for it. Connor’s gorgeous voice and enchanting looks have captivated me, and I hope she captivates you too. Peep the video above and show her some love on facebook below. Also, Connor is releasing an EP on iTunes in early September, so make sure you’re on the lookout for that, FNT will always get you the scoop.
Indie, Videos | Sid Sriram – Love Shine + Kickstarter Project
Posted by J_Salzer on August 2, 2012
Love Shine – An original by Sid Sriram from Sergio Enciso on Vimeo.
Something has been amiss in my blogging world. And I didn’t know what it was until Sid Sriram hit me up on facebook a couple of minutes ago. I realize I hadn’t posted his music in over 3 months, even though he’s currently my favorite singers in music right now(excluding Franky Oh). He came to me looking for help raising some money via Kickstarter, so I thought I would share it with all of you in hopes of SOME of you donating to help Sid’s cause. If he raises another few hundred dollars, he will be able to fund his next project, and that’ll make us all happy. If you don’t want to donate, then just peep the video above(something I missed in the 3 month hiatus) and enjoy Sid’s music.
Indie, Progressive House | Passion Pit – Take A Walk (The M Machine Remix)
Posted by Middy on June 22, 2012
The M Machine takes this great Passion Pit song (if you didn’t already get the original, head over to iTunes now and get it) and adds a progressive house flare to it. After seeing them put on a clinic at Starscape, I knew that this one was going to be great. They keep much of the original work by Passion Pit, using the horns and intricate melodies crafted by Passion Pit in the build leading into a massive progressive house drop. They utilize the vocals perfectly, add uplifting synth chords and a driving bass, making this a must have for all house or indie fans out there. The best part? It is free! Also below is another remix of “Take A Walk” from Peking Duk that slows it down a little, using the main melody of the original track as the central theme, while adding a grungy synth to the drop.
Indie | Shadows On Stars – Out Of My Head (Video)
Posted by A on June 9, 2012
Comprised of producer-vocalist Brian Vincent and singer Randa Leigh, Portalandia based Shadows On Stars has been making serious waves in the blogosphere as of late with their recent “Out Of My Head” video. Shot on location at Death & CO NYC, “Out Of My Head’s” visuals are nothing short of stunning, transporting the listener into an alternative indie-grunge-soul universe full of expensive chandeliers and top shelf liquor. Only one question remains… is it local?
