Leah Haxhi, NYC singer/songwriter, hits us with another Adele cover that rivals all the competition. Keeping it simple with just minimal piano and vocals, this live video gives you the feeling you are sitting right there in the studio with Leah. At first it seems as if she is keeping it very close to the original, but then the second chorus breaks off into a free-style bridge that adds a unique twist to the song. Live studio visuals by Marin Hamataj and Brenton Ruh also complement the relaxed feeling of the cover. We expect to see big things from Leah in the near future, as she is putting together a demo of original songs and also working on new tracks with various DJs and producers such as Afrojack, Shelco Garcia and Teenwolf, and some other hard-hitters in the EDM and pop world. Follow Leah for more music and updates coming soon.

My Girl, which was concocted by John That features good friend of ACADEMY and unknown to most, emcee Terrye who laid down some well written bars that fit the vibe of this song perfectly.

As much as it kills us to admit it, Justin Bieber has found his way into all of our speakers. Today we have another Justin – Justin Caruso – giving us his take on “What Do You Mean”. With support from Don Diablo, 3LAU, Tiesto, and other icons in the industry – Justin Caruso has stirred up a recent buzz that’s drawn eyes from all ends of the spectrum. Caruso reworked Bieber’s hit “What Do You Mean” by teaming up with Angelika Vee, who’s beautiful voice has been featured on countless Beatport Top Tens. The remix is a completely new sound that blends genres such as trap, pop, and countless others. This track is a must hear, and a must download. Check it out now!

It’s been a while since we heard from Steve James, but man are we glad that he’s back! Teaming up with Jasmine Thompson, the two give us a brilliant take on The Weeknd’s “Earned It”. Wavering from James’s usual style (but in the best way), this cover still contains the Pittsburg producer’s signature melodic elements but contains a more ambient and atmospheric vibe. His production, combined with Jasmine Thompson’s beautiful vocals do The Weeknd’s masterpiece justice. This one is a free download, so check it out now and grab it before Soundcloud has their way with it!
Cover, Electro-House | Bee’s Knees & Scavenger Hunt Cover Janet Jackson

Last year Australian duo Two Can released a remix of Janet Jackson’s “Love Will Never Do” and it was really good, but after checking out Bee’s Knees new version of the 1989 release (released earlier this week) I have a new preference. Bringing on Jill Lamoureux from Scavenger Hunt to recreate Mrs. Jackson’s vocals and putting their own 80’s electronic feel on the production aspect, it’s an amazing piece of music.

Cover, Pop | Avicii’s Hit ‘Waiting For Love’ Receives Chilling Cover by OLWIK
Posted by VMan on October 7, 2015
It’s been 3 and a half months since OLWIK released his high-octane progressive house remix of ‘Come Follow’ by Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano. We’re happy to see him back in action and giving his fans more music. His cover of ‘Waiting For Love’ by Avicii takes the song in a completely different direction. At only 19 years old, OLWIK is already showing great maturity as a producer as he breaks temporarily from his progressive style and approaches this record with a pop rock sound. What’s more, he’s singing on the tune! The jack of all trades has a lot of signs pointing upward for his future so have this kid on your radar.

Guilty pleasure of the day, Little Giants cover Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift for a progressive take on “Where Are You Now,” mixed with samples of “Bad Blood.” So far so good, that’s 2 for 2 for this UK trio who came on the scene hard with “Lately (Love, Love, Love)” complimented by huge remixes by Kav Verhouzer, Monsieur Adi, and No Artificial Colours. I’m a fan, I love their sound, check out the video for their cover above, and if you missed it, check out their debut release below!
