Alternative | Earl Gray Collective’s “This House” is Eye Opening
Posted by VMan on September 27, 2020
South London based four piece band Earl Gray Collective’s new single ‘This House’ propels their artistry to a deeper and more musing level as the lyricism takes an introspective turn. The listener is taken on a story-like exploration of self understanding. The fluidity of the instrumentals elegantly begin whilst emphatically building, defined by tender piano keys and rich, mellow guitar strums, coated in irresistable harmonic vocals. Listen to the song above now and check out a quote from the band below!
“‘This House’ is a song that really takes you on a journey, the lyrics describe an eye opening moment in my life when I realised I had some unhealthy and sometimes unconscious biases that I needed to confront and deal with. We really tried to capture that journey in the song leaving loads of space for the story and the structure to develop and ultimately to create this moment of real unity at the end.”
Alternative, Pop | John Dhali’s Goes All Out Dancing In His “In Time” Video

I had never heard of John Dhali before watching his music video for “In Time” but I can now officially call myself familiar and a fan of his work. The London based bubbling act is a self titled Soul-Folk artist who blends various sounds and sub-genres. Underpinned by a mean fuzz bass and driving kick and crowned with euphoric soaring strings, tambourines and the playful tinkerings of xylophone, the single is a slap in the face to new listeners. Alternative, Chill | Charles new EP ‘On Trend, hungry & Broke’ is a bold blend of music

North London based up and coming artist, known simply as Charles, is back with a new EP entitled ‘On Trend, hungry & Broke’. The hybrid release blends together various genres and sounds into 5 tracks, and while it is all over the place it still sounds cohesive and great. Check out a quote via Charles on the project below and stream the project above now!
“I wrote ‘Easy’ for my parents. I wanted to give them a song they could listen to and remind them to chill out. As I got older and experienced my own issues and the stresses of life, it gave me a better understanding of what my parents and most parents go through on a daily. Raising 3 children, money issues, being an interracial couple when it wasn’t fashionable, and just frankly going through things that all adults go through. Life is hard and I wanted to give them a small bit of happiness when the world at times can feel like it has you cornered. Produced by Mathias Boman, ‘Easy’ will take you back to a time of old soul and have you looking forward to better days.
Alternative, Chill | Nicole Chambers Releases Soulful ‘Voice Of A Virgo’ LP

Introducing a captivating new voice on the R&B and neo-soul scene; the incredible sound of Nicole Chambers, who after embarking on a deeply personal and career-shaping musical journey, is finally ready to reveal her debut album, ‘Voice of a Virgo’. The impressive project is a highlight of the year as far as releases go in my book. A self-proclaimed perfectionist, the Canadian singer-songwriter now feels ready to make her mark on contemporary R&B with a collection of skilled, emotive and honest songs that are a sincere reflection of her. Check out a quote from Chambers below and stream the new LP above now! Enjoy.
“I wanted to feel loved by someone who couldn’t fully love me. I was just a temporary void that needed to be filled, and we both knew that. I didn’t want to admit it to myself at the time but I was just a warm body. When I wrote this song in summer ’17, I knew that I was ready to release myself of old patterns and habits, so that I could finally put myself first. Many of us stay in bad situation-ships because we are so afraid of being alone, but that shouldn’t be enough of a reason to invest your energy, your love or your time into someone who refuses to do the same” – NICOLE CHAMBERS

Alternative | Hugo Valentine shares powerfully poignant new single “Rule the World”
Posted by VMan on September 9, 2020
“Rule the World” is the newest track in a string of releases from London based singer-songwriter, Hugo Valentine. His latest offering is a cheery, yet equally pensive pop ballad filled with rich, acoustic instrumentation. His musical inspirations are obvious on “Rule The World, citing artists like Elton John, ColdPlay and Arctic Monkeys to Tom Odell and David Bowie. Valentine continues to impress on his string of releases in 2020, check out his latest above now and read a quote from him on the single below now.
“…Often one finds a lot of comfort in reminiscing about happy times from the past, and this is an idea that the song explores. The notion of ‘together we can rule the world’ aims to fill the sufferer with the hope that he doesn’t have to do this alone, that others are there for him and that he can make it through this difficult part of his life with the help of those who love him. ‘Rule The World’ brings to light the isolation that often comes with addiction and seeks to remind people who suffer in this way that they are not alone.”
