Hip-Hop, Rap | FNT Premiere: San Williams – Really Good To Me [Video]
Posted by admin on August 18, 2014
A few months back we presented to you the chilling ballad by San Williams titled, “Really Good To Me”. Contradictory to its title, the song, and now accompanying video, depict the troublesome relationship between two teenagers looking for love. Quoting our good blog friends at Potholes, San “walks through watery wastelands and dreamy destinations” while “fluctuating [his voice] with a certain resonance, as if balancing passion and reservation, while a luscious landscape progresses forward beneath the surface.”
The video adds a whole extra layer of depth to the already emotional song. Director Tyler Mitchell uses the instrumentation to his advantage and cuts frame after frame of beautiful imagery, bringing you in to San’s shoes.
San has been religiously recording material for his new project, and it’s only a matter of time before he takes the world by storm.
Chill, Hip-Hop | Peter $un – Casimiro
Posted by admin on August 17, 2014

It’s Sunday night, thus here I am scouring the Internet for new rap music to start my week off with. Deep within the abyss of the rap internet I was lucky enough to stumble upon Peter $un, a Virginia native who is looking to bring soul back to the forefront with his jazz-infused music.
Unfortunately, it’s all too easy to throw $un up beside Chance the Rapper. His brilliant use of trumpet, and the falsetto ad-lib at the exposition of the song are to thank for that. However, as Chance moves further and further in to left field, $un could prove to be the more commercially viable and enjoyable for a casual listener.
Just one short verse, Peter $un leave listeners wanted to hear more upon the conclusion of “Casimiro”. While $un works hard to find his voice and place in music, I assure you I’ll be anxiously waiting on this side with my headphones in and volume up.

Anyone who has had a slight interest in the up-and-coming rap world has probably heard the name Kevin Abstract being bounced around these past few weeks. His project MTV1987 was a testament to his innovative work and ability to break the mold.
To further his vision, Kevin is now making a video for the mixtape standout, “Hell/Heroina”. The Internet has played an integral role in shaping Abstract’s music in to what it is today, so what better way to raise funds for the “Hell/Heroina” video than an online campaign?
The project has already been fully funded on Kickstarter, however, donate now and you’re just making the video even better. Take a listen to “Hell/Heroina” below, and support good music!

The 17 year old prodigy, Raury, bursts back on to the seen with a cinematic new video for his newest single, “Cigarette Song”. The teen speaks with angst, emotion, and power of someone three times his age, affirming the buzz he has built for himself in the music community.
“Cigarette Song” is produced by New York duo, and FNT regulars, Daytrip. The boys lay down a smooth and rich soundscape for Raury to croon-rap atop of. Enjoy the video below and be ready, because Raury’s time is coming.
Electronic, Indie, Pop | Kavalier – Better (ft. Elias)
Posted by admin on August 7, 2014

After a beautiful cover for the summer smash “Rather Be”, the boys of Kavalier have returned with their first original, “Better”. The song is another upbeat and radio-ready single. However, despite the feeling that this song could fit perfectly in Top 40s music, it deviates from the all-to-familiar formula that clogs the airwaves nowadays.
The track features vocal help from Elias, a friend and previous collaborator of Kavalier. Just two songs deep, the duo is sure to make some splashes these coming months, so stay tuned and enjoy!
Hip-Hop, Rap | Sam Lachow – Half Past Twelve (ft. Magik)
Posted by admin on August 5, 2014

The Seattle native, Sam Lachow recently smashed back on to the scene with his album Huckleberry. A standout from the album is Magik assisted track, “Half Past Twelve”. The poppy-upbeat record documents Lachow’s night at a party without coming across as a “party-record.” The incredibly well-produced track, complete with guitar riffs, rounds off what could quite possibly be the song you were missing for your summer playlist.
Enjoy the song, and grab the whole album here!
Hip-Hop, Rap | Jon Waltz – Home (Southside)
Posted by admin on August 4, 2014

Jon Waltz has yet to tap the pages of Fresh New Tracks, however, with two incredibly strong releases now under his belt, the time has come. Following up the hard hitting yet crooning, “Video Girl”, Waltz has returned with the slightly more somber, “Home”.
Perhaps it’s the shedding of the Skizzy Mars-esque shell, or perhaps it’s simply his ever growing maturity, but there is an element in Waltz’s new tunes that expose his true star power. Not to say we’ll see an overnight success story, but “Home” is another piece of evidence to show that Waltz’s writing, beat selection, and own identity are all coming to fruition.
It will be an exciting ride for the young kid from Memphis, so buckle up and listen.
