Hip-Hop, Videos | Mike the Martyr ft. Muja Messiah – Gettin’ Saved
Posted by LoffyG on January 4, 2013
I typically don’t step outside the circle of artists I post on the regular, but I saw this guy Mike the Martyr open for Mod Sun last week and I was impressed with his smooth rhyming ability. After nearly falling asleep to the first opening act Mike came on a brought the crowd back to life. Rapping with only the instrumental and no words in the background, unlike many artist, he didn’t miss a beat. I decided to search him when I came home and came across this recent video release of his, and again I was impressed. Muja Messsiah (another artists I’m unfamiliar with) and himself did nice work on this one, grabbing my attention with their topic related wordplay. What do ya’ll think of this guy? Fire off in the comments and catch him on Twitter.

Dubstep | Two Fingers – Vengeance Rhythm (KOAN Sound Remix)
Posted by Mach on December 10, 2012
When ever I wait for a track I really like, it always feels like forever. Two Fingers (aka Amon Tobin) sets a high standard, I mean the 40 year old is a legend in cinematic music, if you have ever the chance to hear his most recent work on “Sucker Punch.” It was a little surprising to see he chose a young duo like KOAN Sound to do a remix for him, but once you hit play you forget what it was you were thinking about. Not KOAN Sound’s usually bass funk style, but damn, it will rock your socks.
House | A-Trak – Tuna Melt EP
Posted by Middy on December 4, 2012
A-Trak is known as one of the best DJs in the world and will wow you with his incredible live sets that take on the same eclectic characteristics of his own productions. The man is very busy not only as head of Fools Gold, but also with a Duck Sauce album on the way at the beginning of next year, his solo work that are on display here in this 4 track EP, all on top of his incessant touring schedule. The EP covers all sorts of ground from the grungy, choppy title track with Tommy Trash, “Tuna Melt”, to the bouncy, trap infused “Landline” with GTA, the aptly named “Jumbo” with Galantis and the glitchy, nu-disco “Disco Nap” with Oliver.

Drum & Bass, Dubstep, Featured | Seven Lions – Days To Come (Affinity Remix)
Posted by Mach on December 3, 2012
The only track in the “Days To Come” remix competition I logged in to vote for. Coyote Kisses did a decent job, but I felt their work was mediocre, along with the rest of the top ten. Affinity just doesn’t have the same pull with fans as the rest which is why I feel this track hasn’t hit the top ten…yet. This has to be one of the best remixes in this competition. Affinity might as well be Seven Lions’ long lost brother, his work on this remix is paralleled to the original, but with enough of his own masterful work to make this remix his own. With only under 20 votes, I am hoping this helps Affinity become a true contender for the top ten. He undoubtedly deserves to be there.

Dubstep | CruciA – Air Raid
Posted by Mach on December 3, 2012
CruciA is a fairly new artist to me. He made his first FNT appearance on last weeks R Rated and since then I have noticed a bit more of his work around. I really enjoy the different styles he works with on each track, especially this new freebie of his. CruciA jumps around a bit on this one, and has an awesome vocal arrangement. I am a sucker for the drop on this, he killed it.

Hip-Hop | Moufy – One Day (Prod. by Almari)
Posted by Grubeats on December 2, 2012
After taking an extended hiatus, Moufy understands he has work to do to earn back the loyalty of his Star Gang supporters. The Boston MC was anticipating a 2012 release for his debut EP, Humble Season, but after making some changes within his inner circle, the release was delayed and thereafter can be expected to drop early in 2013. “One Day” marks the first official release off the EP and harnesses an unparalleled sense of desire and motivation. Mighty Moufy may have a heavy load on his shoulders, but the young gunner is extremely eager to prove to all of us why it’s his time to shine.
