With production from Drunk Dial along with DJ Fresh Direct, this latest single is not one to miss. At long last Nicky Romero’s single “Symphonica”, first played at last year’s Tomorrowland, gets its official release and sets itself up to be an early summer anthem. Nicky is still riding the high of his collab with Avicii “I Could Be The One“, as well as his house smash “Still The Same Man” and with Protocol Records tracks getting plays from Djs all across the spectrum, he is making his push to manage the collasal task of having an even bigger year in 2013 than last year. “Symphonica” embodies the hard hitting sound you come to expect from Nicky with foreboding piano, rough, jarring, almost sand paper like saws and orchestral strings, bringing together this outstanding arrangement from the young Dutchman. No word on the trap remix from Bare that Romero gave a whirl during his mainstage set last weekend at Ultra, but it is one to look out for.

Nearly a million people per day last weekend watched artists like Hardwell, Fatboy Slim, Porter Robinson and Armin van Buuren rip up various stages of Ultra Music Festival. This weekend should only be better with new visuals being rolled out for certain artists and an outrageous ASOT lineup taking over the megastructure on Sunday. The word is that the final SHM show will be broadcasted and also Avicii will be premiered a whole bunch of his new album on the main stage, so be sure to tune in to that. Electro-House | Afrojack – Air Guitar

After his rather poor attempt at remixing “Gangnam Style”, Afrojack makes up for it with a single “Air Guitar”, designated to be an anthem for this years Ultra Music Festival. Afrojack delivers on this intense track with powerful bursts of electro growls, distorted vocal samples and blistering bleeps with a small interlude to let you catch your breath before getting right back into it. On the heals of Tiesto, Quintino and Alvaro’s somewhat lackluster effort last week and Avicii’s contribution “UMF”, known to many as “ID2” or “Fire” or “Put Your Piano On”, coming next week, Ultra is pulling out all the stops, not only in terms of bookings, production, but also new songs for the two weekend, 15th edition of the world famous festival. With Afrojack’s debut album coming later this year, expect much more to come in 2013 from the towering Dutchman.

Every Sunday night, I am hit with the blues. My weekend is coming to a close, normal life resumes tomorrow, and I must continue the mundane task that is school. But alas, I have a saving grace. Every Sunday in recent memory, SoMo has released a new rendition. SoMo Sunday has become a staple of my weekend, and I’ve even found myself looking forward to Sunday night…a little bit. This week, SoMo takes on a Frank Ocean track, which is an extremely daunting task. Frank Ocean is an incredibly talented singer, but also an incredibly talented story teller. He sings with emotion and passion, much like SoMo. I logged on to Twitter a few minutes ago, and saw that SoMo had posted the video 23 seconds ago, after clicking on it, I noticed that the YouTube comments were already filled with women swooning over this week’s SoMo Sunday. I am not afraid to admit that I’ve lost more than one woman to the voice of Mr. SoMo. Maybe next week he will take on a Mr. Steal Yo Girl song?
