Alternative, Ambient | Manatee Commune is about to take off!
Posted by BIGLIFE on June 21, 2016
I heard this tune and literally could not stop listening, it has the most infectious vocals and the production is absolutely amazing. Bastard Jazz Recordings is probably one of the coolest labels out on the east coast, and has some of the coolest artists / vibes out there. After listening to this tune, I think they may break out as a bigger and more well known label in the mainstream for sure. Also, Manatee Commune is an awesome band to begin with, I can’t wait for their album now! Check them out and make sure to peep another favorite of mine: Manatee Commune – Clay feat. Marina Price

The multi-talented Oliver Tree has just emerged with a brand new track “Soulmother, I Love You” featuring Getter. The Santa Cruz native is a producer, singer/songwriter, and rapper, making his music multi-faceted and highly original.
“Soulmother” boasts ghostly, undulating vocals, subdued synth hits and and Flume-esque production. The eerie atmosphere is complemented by head-bob inducing melodies and steady percussion.
This is the second time Getter and Oliver Tree have worked together on a release, the first of which being Getter’s recent track “Forget It” featuring Oliver on vocals. Check it out here and grab a free download of the track here.

Four months after Slander drops their iconic track “Breathe”, the duo follows up with a euphoric remix of Kill The Noise’s “Kill It 4 The Kids.” The track is introduced by a beautifully reminiscent piano bit, which quickly transforms into an empowered build-up. Chopped vocals accompanied by a familiar lead in the background drive up the energy of this track leading into a drop that can only be described as “Dirty.” Slander has proven once again that they have become a master of high-energy production… and with this latest remix, they don’t disappoint.
“For this song we wanted to create a dynamic piece with a subtle intro building up into the heavier side of our style. We hope you guys enjoy it! Massive thank you to Kill The Noise and OWSLA for this opportunity.” – Slander

Wow. I’ve had this on repeat for the past hour I kid you not. Dropout just released their newest track, “My Muse” and it is absolutely incredible. Starting off with beautifully haunting vocals, the track progresses into a powerful electronic banger, all while maintaining the catchy vocal and instrumental melody that we’ve come to love the duo for. This one is sure to be a massive hit, so stream “My Muse” on Spotify or Soundcloud and be sure to grab that free download.

Norwegian producer Limbic Void just dropped his debut five-track EP called “Lapdogs” and it is beautiful. Having started the EP in early 2015, Limbic Void decided to scrap everything and start all over again from scratch 6 months in – a decision he says he does not regret. He said that the “new songs came to me much more naturally…I was playing around with the ideas revolving around a harmless comment that stuck in my head, about how people settling down had become “domesticated””. This collection of sounds has an almost Flume influence with a more pop feel – combined with naturally soothing vocals. Check out the EP now and remember, “everybody knows that even lapdogs have to run”.
Electronic | Kap Slap just dropped the song of the summer

Everyone needs to go thank Kap Slap right now because the man just dropped the tune you’ll have on repeat all through summer. “Felt This Good” is a ‘feel good’ track featuring M. Bronx on the vocals with a beautifully crafted piano based drop with electronic glitch elements sprinkled in. I’m so thrilled this is finally released because I’ve had this track stuck in my head ever since I first saw Kap drop this live at his show, then in his spring break mix, and finally when he released the preview late last week (so when you’re singing the hook throughout the day don’t say I didn’t warn you). “Felt This Good” is out now via Ultra Records so be sure to grab your copy now and give Kap Slap a <3 on HypeM here!

Steello and Zinity have made an interesting fusion of pop and melancholy chill house with “Faith”. The song stands out with its original vocals and happy vibe. If you are a fan of KOLAJ, you will love what is being presented here.
“Faith” takes things a bit further by donating all proceeds to Children’s Cancer Fund. The sound and the cause combined act as a goosebumps giving moment. Learn more about Steello & Zinity by clicking the SoundCloud link above.
