Events | Kaskade Announces Atmosphere Tour

Kaskade Atmosphere Tour
Kaskade has eschewed the lengthy Freaks of Nature Tour he did last summer for his “Summer Lovin” residency at Marquee Las Vegas, and also took to the dark clubs of the US for a throwback “It’s You, It’s Me Redux” tour that both new and old fans alike came away absolutely floored. However, he has not forgotten the larger venues of the US and will do a small tour with large arenas later this fall throughout the mega-cities of the continental United States. He has the unique ability to play a long, deep set in a dark club, like he did on his Redux tour and then go out into the biggest arenas in the US and rock them, like he did to finish off the Freaks of Nature Tour at the Staples Center.

He will be hitting Miami, New York, Chicago and Los Angeles in the months of September and October, so if you are in those cities or near them, sharpie the date closest to you and make plans to see Kaksade on his Atmosphere Tour. Pre-sale tickets go on sale June 5th at 12pm local time and general public tickets go sale June 7th, same time. “Atmosphere” the album is coming in September.

Coyote Kisses - Thundercolor EP

Oh Coyote Kisses, how I have missed your music so. It has been too long since we have had some new music from you guys and this EP is exactly what we needed. The Thundercolor EP is the longest release to date from US producers Bryce Bresnan and Joe Sussingham better known as Coyote Kisses. Trained musicians, the two of them showcase their compositional ability and the ability to create musically interesting sounding songs. The 4 track EP encompasses much of the wide variety of sounds and styles that they have embraced already in their young and promising careers, while expanding their sound even further.

While many EPs sound like 4 random songs thrown together, this one has the sound of a mini-16 minute album, giving you a small snippet of the overall creative process at work with the two of them. The EP starts slow with the soothing “Diving At Night“, mixing a slow piano melody with a pitched vocal and subtle guitar chords. “Stay With You” is most like the unique sound and style they have developed with a blend of bouncy, differentiating bass lines, bright synths, while “This Is How You Know” brings in some rock infused funk with an infectious synth melody. “Changing Of The Guard“, which can be downloaded for free here, finishes out the EP, capping off the short, but diverse journey Coyote Kisses take you on, showing off their musicianship with a prominent guitar and subtle melodic synths underneath.

A project one year in the making, Coyote Kisses give us spellbinding productions that make it entirely worth the wait. Their quality over quantity sound makes it easy to revisit each individual track plenty and with this EP, you will be back again in no time.

Pop | John Newman – Love Me Again

John Newman - Love Me Again

England is getting all the hits it feels like. This track from John Newman is gold, rarely what you get to hear in the US at this caliber anymore. I’m just not that into Bruno Mars and all the other mediocre pop artists, sure they can sing but where is their music like this? Wouldn’t surprise me if this gem made its way over to the US, it’s too good to go unnoticed. “Love Me Again” releases June 30th on iTunes Great Britain.

Events | Electric Adventure expands to two days, August 3rd & 4th

Electric AdventureAfter a resounding success last year, one of the more unique festivals on the Eastern seaboard, Electric Adventure, returns for its second edition at Six Flags in Jackson, New Jersey, this time expanding to two days to give revelers more time for the edm / roller coaster action they crave. The match made in heaven of roller coasters and a great lineup, then toss in the obvious mix of drugs and alcohol and you have yourself one of the sleeper US festivals this summer. Since it is two days, I would recommend getting a fast pass to cut the lines because time is money my friends and you don’t want to be that guy standing in line for Superman or Bizarro, while your favorite DJ is shredding and then hearing about it up until Electric Zoo. Get your tickets now before they sell out and the lineup will be announced soon.

Having an opportunity to travel the country sharing good vibrations with thousands and thousands of fans is far fetched for many of us.  The duo native to Massachusetts has been privileged with the opportunity to tour the beautiful US of A on several occasions.  On their latest tour with Hoodie Allen, Jared Evan, and Mod Sun, David and Carter found it fitting to shoot visuals for their most recent single “Take It Wrong” across various scenery in some of their favorite cities.  Summertime music is here, FAM.

Events, Review, Trance | The Expedition’s Trance Takeover of Madison Square Garden

Wow, Wichita State is crushing Ohio State. This is not even close, who woulda thunk it. The bartender refills my glass as I watch the Shockers do just that, shock the basketball world and everyone’s bracket. Man was mine totally ruined, but at least I wasn’t the guy who picked georgetown to go all the way — dunk city. I look at my phone, 8:10. I am pushing the limit of how long I can stay at the bar because I need to get over to Madison Square Garden and sneak down past some security guards to a seat that isn’t in the obstructed view section. I close out and head over to the Garden to navigate the line and get inside.

The line is nonexistent, so I walk through and head up to the first level to probe the defenses of the seat security like a prized fighter trying to find the weak spot of my enemy. I see some other people dancing the same dance I am and as a group we would like to thank the kid in the teal tank who was escorted out of section 102 and left the entrance unguarded, letting the stream of approximately me and 4 other kids into the section. Thank you, because my seat put me dead center and I could see the entire arena laid out in front of me.
