House | MalLabel and Eko Zu Team Up For Powerful House Original “Let Me Fall”

Posted by on November 17, 2016

MalLabel is a San Fransico based level showcasing several new releases per week, the latest being an Eko Zu release, entitled “Let Me Fall” paired with a music video, which you can find above. The music video is more of a visual accompaniment than a full-on story, but the vibe fit. The feel is trippy and enjoyable regardless, fitting the vibe of the original.

Eko Zu impresses me with their style and branding, they are a trio, with a dark theme and some members wearing mysterious masks. Not your typical solo DJ here.

“Let Me Fall” is hard not to enjoy, the beat sets a nice tone that’s easy to get into, while the vocal takes the experience to the next level.

Deep House | Ravell’s “Get Away” Drops On The Prestigious Arkade Records

Posted by on October 31, 2016

Ravell is making big moves in the house scene, per usual, now landing on Kaskade’s (who has over 1m followers on SoundCloud alone) own label Arkade Records.

Ravell’s new single “Get Away” taps into the trippy elements that deep house provides as well as the gritty elements tech house can offer, conveying a powerful feeling throughout that would get any room properly warmed up. Seem to be his overall signature sound as your listen through his discography.

Ravell is LA based, a solo producer, and has been perusing music since the age 12. The dude has serious talent and isn’t slowing any time soon.

Australian producer Elk Road hit me with his latest remix of Charli XCX’s “Boom Clap,” and being a sucker for the original, see me singing the hook as loud as possible when it drops, I had to give it a listen. Off the bat, I was carried by the rolling bass and guitar, and once you’re in it, it sounds like a trippy adventurous mysterious epic dream, to which you’re the hero. Get lost to these vibes, and see how many times you find yourself playing this tune on repeat. This is a must listen and a must download!

Hip-Hop, Rap | Rome Fortune – Lights Low

Posted by on July 14, 2014

After premiering on Pitchfork earlier this week, Rome Fortune went on to gather up a gaggle of critical acclaim on his new release, “Lights Low”. Fortune stayed true to his trippy, dream-like sound gliding atop of the Four Tet production. And, although it is unclear how many more releases there might be before his next project, we can assume that we will be equally as impressed.

Rome Fortune just finished up his New York City debut show this week at the Hudson Project. Fortune is on to something big here, and it won’t be long before his Atlanta roots spread worldwide.
