House | Fehrplay – Monte / Talk To Me
Posted by J-Tiffy on July 31, 2013
As someone I know put it so very well earlier today, Fehrplay is the man. I’ve been eagerly anticipating the release of this two song EP since Middy posted previews of both songs a couple of weeks ago. Both tracks are awesome and both are born from Fehrplay’s dark side. His better known tracks are of the shiny and uplifting nature, while these two are much more sinister. “Monte” makes me think of Deadmau5’s “Lack Of A Better Name”; with breaks that are pretty and inviting, contrasted by dark main sections that have sneaky synths plucking along with them. “Talk To Me” houses a similar dark energy, with a nice emotional section cradled in the middle. It has more of a soft feel to it whereas “Monte” is a bit edgy. Jump on both of these tracks and look into Fehrplay, just do it, his music is wicked, and his mixes are off the chain.

Cover, Videos | Connor Zwetsch – Home (Phillip Phillips Cover)
Posted by J_Salzer on July 30, 2013
The ever magnificent, phenomenal singing, beautiful, talented, Connor Zwetsch has given us her latest cover. Now that I’ve gotten my adjectives for today’s post out of the way, I can get down to the nitty gritty. You all know Connor has got the pipes, but what some of you might not know, is her songwriting ability. In addition to being able to blow the cover off of covers, her originals are majestic also. There are plenty of people that can sing other people’s songs well, and Connor can do that, but the real talent comes from being able to create their own magic, and Connor Zwetsch can do that. I guess what I’m getting at is: enjoy these covers, but keep in mind that the originals are coming too, and they will be incredible. Believe me.
Glitch | Haywyre – Synergy [ASPW #8]
Posted by BP on July 29, 2013
Haywyre’s single “Synergy” was released today to Monstercat and I was given the pleasure of posting it for all of your ears. This glitch track, the eighth installment of Haywyre’s “A Song Per Week” project, is precisely crafted and an intriguing listen. Starting off with some of Haywyre’s impressive piano skills, it then takes a sudden turn into exciting glitch hop. Both the first minute of calming piano and remaining three minutes of glitchy bass are fantastic.

Hip-Hop, Mixtapes | Lucki Eck$ – Alternative Trap (Mixtape)

A little while ago I posted Lucki Eck$’ video, Everything Out$ide, a song that really put Lucki on a lot of people’s radars, but today, we receive his debut mixtape and it’s a must download. With a flow comparable to Joey Bada$$, Lucki Eck$ definitely has the makings of a star. Peep the tape below and make sure to download it as well. Be on the lookout for this kid down the line, you’ll be hearing a lot more of him.
Hip-Hop, Rap | Rockwell Knuckles – In For The Kill
Posted by VMan on July 23, 2013
Glad I checked up on Rockwell Knuckles today, I’ve been meaning to share his music with you guys. I believe it’s been since ’09 that Rockwell has been featured on FNT with his dope track “Government Name,” and today we change that. The St Louis MC Rockwell Knuckles dropped a new track/video for his record “In For The Kill,” teaming up with Converse A/V to put this production together. Personally, it’s not my favorite track by the man, it’s not as upbeat as his regular work, though he still remains one of my favorite rappers, and I’m always excited to hear new records from him. Enjoy!
Throwback from Rockwell, but a must listen nonetheless, probably one of his freshest tracks.

Progressive House | Maarcos – Blaze (Dirty South Edit)
Posted by Middy on July 15, 2013
It is always tricky when you see an artist who “edits” a track, like you see here. It could be something significant like what happened to “In My Mind”, which was close to a remix by Axwell, or something as simple as a better mixdown or a small tweak in one part. We will probably never know however. In this track Dirty South edits Maarcos’ “Blaze”, who is fresh from a split with Those Usual Suspects and has decided to stake it out alone. The track brings us back to the bigger songs we heard a few years ago, crafting a very club-friendly sound with churning chords, a punchy bass line and a soothing interlude. “Blaze” has already seen support from the cream of the crop top DJs like Axwell, Seb, Hardwell and Alesso, so grab it today.

Hip-Hop | Jay-Z – Dead Presidents 3
Posted by W8 on July 8, 2013
Jay-Z’s twitter spree came bearing fruit today courtesy of a one @JordanJClemons. The tweet read ”is there a finished version of Dead Presidents 3?”, and among the plethora of gifted replies, Hov said to this one: ”Just or Guru has it I give them Twitter permission to GO”. Hours later Guru resurrects the nearly 5 year old DP3 in full. A gorgeous chain reaction that seeded from the mind of @JordanJClemons. Cool things.
